Spring In January

I think the only time I can seem to find to blog lately is around midnight...so here we are, but not likely to be able to keep this up since my little chunky monkey is still waking up to eat at least 2 times during the night.

It was beautiful this weekend and around 70 degrees Saturday and Sunday, and that is warm even for Alabama in January. We defiantly took advantage of the weather and did some strolling in the new double stroller, had a lunch date with Aunt Em and Uncle Pookie (don't ask) and scored some great deals on clothes for J.

And even though the weather won't last it was just enough to remind me that Spring will be here soon, and if not I am moving further south! HA!

For our lunch date today we tried a new-to-us pizza place and it was yummy! Jack is currently OBSESSED with pizza, so we knew it was sure to be fun for him, and they even let him (and the other kids there) watch them make pizzas and gave them all their own dough to practice with.

He was covered in flour and had very sticky hands by the time our pizza was ready, but he loved it and we loved not having to try to entertain him while waiting at the table for our food! Henry slept like a little doll the entire time we were out, making me remember how different it is to take a 2 month old out to eat instead of a 2 year old!

Jack got a new train book yesterday, so as soon as we got home he hit pookie up to sit and read trains, and of course he agreed!

Dentist

Yesterday was yucky and pouring rain...like one of those stay in your pjs all day and a total waste of makeup for sure, but guess who had a dentist appointment at 9am? So we were up dressed rushing around and out of the house by 8:30! And apparently Jack is too smart because its been 6 months since his last cleaning and as soon as we pulled up in the front of the office he started tearing up and saying no teeth, no teeth! So I bribed with a treat...it didn't work, and well I was sort of glad because I did not want to get out of the car again and drag to kids in Target for a treat!

Henry slept the entire time and Jack cried the entire time, but his teeth are perfect so all is well!

And if they would just learn to come out to the waiting room and mess with their teeth while they are so engrossed with video games we could save the screaming, crying, hand holding while kicking fiasco!

(and I have NOT told J that Jack can actually play video games, because I know that their will be enough video games in my future soon enough!)

In LOVE...

with this sweet boy and this gown that J's mom made for him!

Aunt Em and I saw this at the local Christmas village and I loved them, but they were really pricey, so I sent Grandi the picture and she copied it perfectly right down to the tiny ric-rac...it makes me hope my next baby is a boy too! (I secretly wish that anyway!!)

Our Week

Oh my, this week has gone so fast!

We are planning to go to TN this weekend, but from what I have gathered they have more snow, so we may be traveling just for the day on Sunday if it does not clear up. I am so ready for SPRING!!

Jack has gone back to school for the whole week minus Monday (1st time since before Christmas) and that has helped our routine very much! He has been more pleasant and we have enjoyed our time together more!

Henry is still sleeping, eating, and pooping for the most part, but we did manage to get a couple of sweet smiles out of him this week! He is such a sweet baby, and growing like crazy. I packed up all the 0-3 month clothes yesterday, some still have tags on them :(

We managed a lunch date with Aunt Emmy complete with Chocolate cake!

And Henry got to welcome a new friend into the world. Charlie Guy Oatridge was born on Wednesday morning, happy and healthy! Their big brothers are big buddies, and I am sure Henry and Charlie will be to!

And just for fun here is Jack and Reed the day Jack was born!

I still have lots of blogging to catch up on like newborn pics, showing off some sewing J's mom did, and silly Jack singing...Hopefully I will get to all of that next week!

Pick Me!

If you have not seen the movie Shrek at the beginning the donkey is jumping around among the other characters saying pick me, pick me, pick me and that is the prompt to hit the play button. Jack LOVES this part and could watch that donkey jump around for hours and stands right in front of the TV with hand raised waiting to be picked! HA! Well last Wednesday Jack had a very short day at MDO because of snow delays, but when I picked him up he started jabbering away and said mommy pick me, pick me, pick, me...for a cupcake, raised hands included!

Well how could I resist that?

Catching Up

Its been awhile, and we have been busy and I had lots to blog about, but time gets away faster than I ever imagined it could. It did not help that we had the "Winter Storm of 2011" that amounted to no more than about 1/2 an inch of ice around us but got J two days off of work and Jack out of two days of MDO! And when he only goes 3 mornings, that left me with not much time to get anything done.

During MDO on Friday I had a doctors appointment that lasted (and I am not kidding) 4 HOURS!! Thank goodness Jack was at school and Henry was a complete angel!

We got done just in time to grab some lunch and run by Big Lots to get a new wireless printer (which I am in LOVE with) before getting Jack and coming home to crying and dirty diapers all at the same time! We had our Friday night special for dinner and played trains until bed time.
Jack got to have a last minute spend the night party at Pop's last night (because he has his pop and Nana completely wrapped around his fingers) and Henry slept until 8:30 this morning! I got to do a little shopping today and talk to Aunt Em, who we are missing since they have been in LA (lower Alabama) since Thursday. Uncle Kyle's granddaddy passed away Thursday and they are headed home late tonight.

She has been helping with my terrible wardrobe, which is coming along rather nicely and yesterday she even found me the boots like hers that I wanted so badly! So now I can go out of the house and look half way stylish and somewhat put together!
There is no school tomorrow, but J has to work. Jack has had a major growth spurt and with at least 8 more weeks of winter I am desperately trying to make him enough shirts and shop enough sales to get him through winter, but with a spoiled little 6 week old who wants to eat or be held ALL THE TIME, there is not much sewing going on at all!

Thank goodness for the baby carrier my SIL let me borrow I have managed to do some things like clean house and fold laundry and keep Henry happy!
But my VERY, VERY type A personality has had to relax a little and let some things go! Which is why Jack's playroom looked like this most days,

and why we ate pizza for dinner in our pj's that we wore the night before!

Don't worry we did bathe and put fresh jammies on before bed!

I have about 15 items on my to do list this week and tomorrow I get the disc of Henry's newborn pictures!! And we are heading to TN next weekend so that J's grandparents can see the boys and meet Henry and get a visit in with the Downs too!

WHEW...that was alot, but now you are all caught up and I will try to do better this coming week! I always have great intentions, but by 8pm my bed starts looking really comfy!

War Eagle...HEY!

It's Game Day! WAR EAGLE!!!

And the best part is we got just enough snow and ice that J got to stay home today! An extra day at home with my 3 favorite guys!! What more could a girl as for??

Can you tell?

I snapped this picture of Henry yesterday!
He is 4 weeks and 4 days old in this picture!

This is Jack in the same outfit at 4 months old!

I do not think they look alike when you look at them like this, but everybody says that is Jack all over! Can you guess who the MUCH bigger baby is? I sure hope Henry slows down a little so he can wear all of Jack's cute clothes!

We hung out at home yesterday and did fun stuff like laundry, vacuuming, etc! I did spend some time online shopping too! That is my new favorite way to shop and Aunt Em has been working on my wardrobe with me! I needed a wardrobe makeover! And I know that sounds like a VERY boring day, but don't worry Jack decided to feed his brother an almond while I ran to the restroom in the hall bathroom right beside them with the door wide open! Thank goodness Henry had not tried to swallow it! Guess who's bouncy seat is hanging out on the kitchen island today?? Then Aunt Em came last night while we went to J's work party. It was nice to get out and Henry was great...slept the entire time!

Jack had school today, so Henry and I ran two quick errands, then came home to do more laundry and some monogramming. Friday night special for dinner (Chick-fil-a) Aren't we fancy?? And looks like a snowy weekend!!

Back to School

Yesterday was Jack's 1st day back at MDO and he was more than ready to go!
This is his new favorite place to have breakfast and watch Toy Story while I get ready and get Henry ready!

He got dressed with no fuss (which can be a HUGE challenge these days) and even walked to the garage and stood by the car until I put him in. We all managed to make it out of the house dressed and on time! YEA!

Then I took my chunky monkey to run a few errands and have a lunch date with J. He was a great errand runner and only cried one time. We managed to time feedings just right other than the quick one we had to have during the carpool line! (This nursing is a whole new thing for me since Jack was not a good nurser) Henry loves to eat and at 12lbs I guess you can see that!

Tonight is J's work Christmas party, so Aunt Em is coming to hang out with Jack. We are taking Henry with us, just so we don't overwhelm her with two just yet! We like our babysitter, so we have to be kind!

Christmas Round 2

We celebrated a little more Christmas this weekend and this little booger got more than he needed!

J's parents came on Friday, and somehow I managed to not snap a single picture. We were visiting and watching Jack open gifts and I totally forgot all about it. We had a great time and Jack is officially obsessed with his doctor kit that he got complete with personalized scrubs that his Grandi made just for him...believe me, they are so cute it deserves a post all of its on! She made Henry a cute outfit too and I am very thankful she can sew!

We also celebrated Christmas with my Dad's family and Jack loved that because he got to stay the weekend which meant he got whatever he wanted for an entire weekend!

He was more than excited about his candy machine, and so was I because I heard it was great to use for potty training...well guess where it is now? Sitting on J's desk at work. Yep, he took his child's candy machine!

Henry enjoyed being held the entire time and slept through most of the gift opening.

And here is the gift that Pop has been hiding for about 4 months...and Jack is terrified of his new power wheels.

He has ride on toys, but he is in control of those and this is all new. He loved it while we were in the house and he did not have much room to go, but once we got outside we had to try everything. Pop pretended to ride, with no luck...

and this is pretty much how it ended with Jack following a good distance behind.

It was a great start to the New Year and we are so thankful that we have such wonderful families to spend time with! Tomorrow it is back to reality and Jack starts back to school. I am glad to get our routine back, but anxious about getting everyone up and out the door on time!

Dear Henry:Month One

Dear Henry,

I can not believe it has already been a whole month since we got to meet you for the first time. It has gone by so fast that I almost forgot it was today! You are the most precious, perfect little Christmas gift, and far more than I deserve.

You are the best baby, and I did not think anyone got two of those, but we lucked out. At 10lbs 5oz you are one chunky little thing. You look just like your big brother did just much much bigger. You have so much hair and the chubbiest cheeks I have ever seen.

We ran right through newborn size clothes in about 2 weeks and skipped right into 0-3 and some 3 month outfits. We are still struggling with our days and nights being a little mixed up, but we are working on that and I figure I am still young enough to be sleep deprived and make it with a little help from Dr. Pepper. You hate your bouncy seat and love to be held more than anything, which I am glad to do.

I love our quiet afternoons together. While Jack naps I just sit and hold you. Its the best 2 hours of my day! Your big brother has grown quite fond of you in 4 short weeks even though it was touch and go there for a few days. He loves to kiss you and make sure your still here each morning when he wakes up.

And even though I may be stuck in sweat pants until 2 o'clock in the afternoon, and we might have to eat cereal for dinner and look at house that is not as clean as my type A personality would like, I would not trade these days for anything in this world. Like I tell your daddy all the time when its been a hard day and I really want to cry...we are gonna miss this!
