What to Say

I am really not sure what to say or even how to begin to describe what our state looks like at this moment. It happened just down the street from us and in all directions, and yet I still can not seem to grasp it all. It seems so trivial now that we were only without power for 1 day, or that we did not get to have a date night for John's birthday, and that instead we spent it in the basement of our sweet friends home. It seems silly to be bummed that we won't get to see J's family this weekend or take Jack to see Thomas the train, because J has been without power at work for 2 days now and he will be working all weekend to catch up! For us, there is always next week, next month, or next year to visit family and see Thomas the train, because we are all here and in one piece! Our house is fine and we can go about our business as our little world was mostly untouched.

But what I can not seem to stop thinking about are all those babies without parents now, or a mom who had her baby taken from her arms by this awful storm. J and I have been thinking and discussing how we can best use what God has given us to help. Em and I have came up with a plan for Tootlebugs to help through diapers. As a mom of two in diapers its a necessary that I take for granted, when I need them I just go get them. What about all these sweet innocent babies without diapers or formula. Can you imagine? So we are helping with the diaper drive here locally. Its not much, but its a simple thing that I can easily do to hopefully make a difference to someone who truly needs a little hope today.

But, please, please pray for our state, pray for those people who have lost everything and their worlds are completely upside down today. Pray for the leaders of our state as they make decisions, pray for all those moms and dads who can not find or talk to their college student in Tuscaloosa.

I feel so guilty to go about my day, to hold my sweet babies, and kiss their cheeks.

Easter Weekend

We had a great Easter weekend at home this year! Aunt Em spent it with us since she had to work on Saturday! We got to visit with Grandi and Grandaddy on Friday. They brought treats for the boys and Jack got to show off his water table, and soak himself and everyone else!

Saturday morning was the neighborhood egg hunt in Reed's neighborhood, so we tagged along and dyed eggs and ate pizza!

Pop and Nana stopped by Saturday afternoon and took Jack on a "date" to dinner and a little shopping! Aunt Em, J, Henry, and I took advantage of a quiet evening and went out for a two-year-old-free dinner for sushi! It was was like heaven. Since our life these days consists of Chick-fil-a dining as "fancy!"

The Easter bunny stopped by way to late Saturday night, and left the boys some treats. Mostly practical things like pjs and blankies! Jack's favorites were the WaQueen suckers and $1 sunglasses, but changed that night when he got to sport his new pjs (more on that later!)

We had a great Easter service at church and enjoyed a late lunch at home. (Easter dining out crowds and rowdy 2 year olds do not mix!) Jack played outside and Henry napped! Thankfully we had Em here so we could attempt some pictures before church and well oh my! is about all I have for that! I guess these are what our pictures will look like for the next 18 years or more! And BOTH boys had accidents at church, so those Easter outfits were very short lived on Sunday! Thank goodness for Oxy Clean and overnight soaks!!
Enjoy some of my favs!

Egg Hunts and Fallen Trees

Yesterday was Jack's Easter Egg Hunt at school. He was so excited about taking his basket and treats to his friends. (thanks to Sara Ann for making the cute, cute cookies) He walked around with his Easter basket all morning saying "I find eggs"

He wanted me to take his picture with the basket and he would say cheese mommy, but he would not for anything LOOK AT THE CAMERA!

I opted not to go to the egg hunt since it was storming like crazy, I had Henry, and I knew if I went in for it Jack would throw a hissy fit when I left.

I got ready to go get Jack from school later than usual since he was staying all day, and since it had finally quit raining I was planning to make a Target run before picking him up....well things never seem to go as planned and I spent over an hour sitting at the entrance to our subdivision because of this...

Apparently the storm was worse than I thought and thankfully I left at just the right time and missed the tree falling on my car or the car in front of me. So, J had to go to the school and get Jack, then park his car up the road and walk Jack to me so he could get back to work quickly. Crazy Days!

Thursday Already?

How can it already be Thursday? I still have not accomplished everything on my list for the week, and its already Thursday! Oh, well I have had fun playing with two cute boys and I have even taken pictures every day with the intent of blogging every night. I did good on Monday! Maybe next week will be better! We are planning to play outside with our friends today and hit up the grocery store if everyone cooperates today, and right now with a 2 year old (who is sitting in time out as I am typing this) its very touch and go!! HA!

He is officially (I think) giving up his nap time. I still make him go to his room every afternoon for about an hour, but he finds whatever he can to play with including the big and very cute red painted H he had (notice the had) hanging above one of his twin beds. It was broken into two pieces and being used as drumsticks!! The golf clubs are now hidden so he can not golf his dresser! Oh My! Its never a dull moment around here...EVER!!

Monday Monday

We got to hang out at home this weekend... because it was Masters weekend! But we did enjoy the weather, play in the water, and grill some yummies!

I tried to get pictures of the boys on Sunday morning before church because they looked sooo stinking cute, but Henry needed to be fed, Jack did not want to be messed with. You know typical Sunday mornings! The ladies in the nursery are in love with Henry. He really is the most pleasant little thing. He looks like me and is laid back and easy going like J. Jack looks just like J, but has my personality all over! We had 40 people join our church on Sunday. Is that not crazy? Our newish pastor is really loved and WOW! That is really all I have.

Today was MDO and work for me. I have been working on my "work" schedule and trying to find a happy balance as a work at home mom. It has taken some time, but we are there and it makes me so happy! Tootlebugs is fun and provides me and outlet to meet new people and keep my mind active! HA! I just needed to accept that it is okay to work and stay home too. I mean...how lucky am I??

Jack was all about cheesing for the camera this morning, and from this look, I should have known he was going to get into something at school today, and he did!

I got the johnny jump up out for Henry today and he liked it. He was a little unsure, but he laughed and stayed content in there for awhile. Jack LOVED that thing and would even go to sleep in it. We will see if that happens!

And, yes I plan on matching outfits as much as I can this summer, while Jack is still little enough to not mind! Thanks our Grandi for Henry's jon-jon and Jack's shorts! Are they not cute?

Pop Playdate!

Pop and I had planned a play date for Tuesday since jack doesn't have MDO, but Pop got sick so we decided to give it a try today. We had planned to go to a fun place in town that has go carts, bowling, a big tree house, and plenty of arcade games. I had gotten the Groupon for it and Sara Ann did too. They were going to meet us, but I messed up!

I did not think to call ahead and when we got there at 10am...not open until 12pm!! She did not want to mess up naptime, but since Jack is not a good napper anymore I decided what the heck! We ran some errands for Pop and then some for me too.

And it was so WONDERFUL to have help. We grabbed some b-b-q and ice cream for lunch and headed back to play. Jack had a blast and even talked Pop into climbing up the huge kiddy tree house. Henry just chilled and watched it all!

We got home in time for a quick nap and a sampling of all the sweet treats Nana sent. Tomorrow is school YEA! And I have a monogramming appointment and then I MUST get some work done before the weekend.

And by the way, how cute are matchy-matchy outfits on the boys?
I think I am obsessed!

Tuesday Ramblings

Today we were planning a date with Pop to a newish place close to home, but Pop is sick with what we are hoping is not the flu! So we opted for a lunch date with daddy and both boy's got a LONG afternoon nap, a very rare treat! I got Tootlebuging done. And as of right now, let me just say how much I am loving that Aunt Em is our new Tootlebugs helper. She is doing lots of cute stuff with vinyl and helping me with the things I do not currently have time for. Hopefully (fingers crossed) the time thing is about to get better for me in a big way!

Jack counted to 20 today. We were in the car and he started counting, which is a fairly normal thing. He usually stops right at 12, but today he just kept going. I think I squealed at him a little loudly but at least he knew I was proud! The funniest thing is that when he gets to two he says two-a, three-a, four. For some reason two and three have an extra letter in there.

J cooked dinner tonight, and I tell you that one little thing he does most nights makes me love that man a little more each time! Chicken Parm and it was yummo! Jack even ate two plates of noodles, which I had to later clean up off the floor, his clothes, the chair, my hair, the wall, etc, etc. But, hey...he ate something besides fruit snacks, so I will take it.

I was going to be in bed by 9:00 at the latest. If I hurry I might make it before 10!
Goodnight!!
