Happy Memorial Day!

We are hanging out at home today! We have a two year old with a fever, a daddy who had to go to work, and a mommy who has to work all so we can go on vacation very soon!!

To all of our friends, family, and even those we don't personally know who spend their days serving and sacrificing for our country so that we may live so freely.... THANK YOU!!

Have a great Memorial Day!!

Cereal Time!

We decided to let H try some cereal last night for the 1st time. He was not sure about the texture at all, but he warmed up to it rather quickly! Jack of course thought he needed to try feeding him...HUGE DISASTER!

This is my favorite picture from the night. He never makes an ugly face, but this is proof its in there!!

Summer begins!

Jack's last day of school was today. I let him stay all day because he loves the extra outside time and I can get tons more work done, however I almost had a slight crying episode this morning and decided that this monogrammer needed a day off! So Henry and I opted for lunch with J and a little shopping. It was majorly hot...not fun for trying on clothes, so we ended up going to the post office and grocery store and making good use of our time! Jack was hot and his hair was ringing wet when I picked him up, but he was happy and thirsty, as in 3 capri suns thirsty.

His little school friends are the cutest things, 6 wild boys and one sweet little Abby. They chowed down on Chick-fil-a and cookie cake and were excited to have parents and grandparents visit them at school! Lucky for Jack since I work at home, I still needed some time to do that this summer so he will be going back to school mid June and he can not wait. He is already asking for his friends and school just ended!

I love that sweet boy and he is growing so quickly before my eyes. You can carry on real conversations with him and you never know what he will say next! He loves his daddy and his brother and can be the sweetest wild child I know! School has been great for him this year and I am so glad he got to go! Its off to the 3's class next year...Oh MY I have a 3 year old!!

School Days

This is Jack's school class this year! This picture cracks me up!! His teachers said it was like herding cats to get 7 two year olds to stand still and smile and the day of pictures is suddenly turned cold, so half of them have on winter clothes and the other half have on spring clothes! Jack's shoe is untied and his hair is a mess!! Oh well he looks happy as a clam!!

A List

Writing lists is something I do almost everyday to help me remember anything and everything. AND since I have this blog to remember any and every thing with our family I figured I better write all this stuff down quickly before I forget! Time is flying with Henry and Jack!!

  • Jack asked if he could go to the beach. I did not even know he knew what the beach was!
  • Henry is trying to sit up as of Friday (5-13-11) he needs some assistance, but he just laughs and smiles and himself like he has conquered the world.
  • Jack has decided that it might help him a little if he says "mommy just kiss me" when he is in trouble. I literally have to bite my lip and turn away to keep from laughing and smiling at him
  • Jack knows he is not supposed to annoy Henry and that mostly means no touching on the head or climbing on him, not that he obeys this rule all the time, but if I catch him doing something he will say "okay, okay, I go time out!"
  • Jack was playing this weekend alone and I heard him say "I sorry Emmy" I guess he was playing with Aunt Em even though she was not here!
  • Henry is still loving his thumb, but only the left one
  • I got a new-to-me much bigger and more complicated monogramming machine on Thursday. I just want to remember how far my business has come and that I am truly blessed in that area. It was so intimidating on Thursday, but I conquered it by Friday afternoon and I have to say I am in love!! I still have a long way to go, but boy I have come a long way too.
  • We got to witness sweet Charlie's baptism on Sunday. God is so good and I am thankful for sweet friends to share memories with! I can not wait for Henry's baptism coming up. (We had to schedule it around he size so he could wear the same outfit that Jack wore)
  • J and I finally did some so out of the ordinary for us and we are taking a trip and leaving both boys with Pop and Nana, they are excited to keep them and I am excited for a getaway with J.
  • Jack has become obsessed with bubbles and Alvin and the chipmunks. He calls them all the time Alvin...Simon....Theodore, and the way he says Theodore, might be one of the cutest things ever! I bought him a bubble blower that does it for him because, yes I am too lazy to sit outside and blow bubbles for hours and hours!
  • Henry loves the johnny jump up now. He has yet to fall asleep in it again, but he LOVES it!

Playtime

Jack LOVED the excersaucer, but Henry is still a tad unsure. I think that is mostly because he always as a pesky playmate!! Jack wants to show him how to play and how to hold the toys and take toys away. Poor Henry for now, but as soon as he catches up to Jack OH MY!!

Two year old moment

Jack is at that age where you never know what he is going to do or say EVER!! Sometimes I just laugh and laugh at him, other times I want to strangle him, but after all he is just a two year old boy. I promise God does have a sense of humor because I just knew my whole life I would have girls. It was never even really a discussion and everyone just assumed I would be a mommy to prissy little girls. We even had friends give us girl stuff as gifts from the moment I found out I was pregnant with Jack! BOY, was I ever wrong and I could have never, ever, ever prepared myself for life with boys, but its fun and chaotic and I would not change it for the world. And honestly I hope I have more boys!! I have decided being the only girl is sort of fun.

Anyway, Jack is my personality made over. He is strong willed, independent, loves to talk, pester, and make friends with anyone. Really a good combination except for the fact that he is two, and that and strong willed don't really mix AT ALL!!

The other day I caught him in the kitchen walking across the counter top like it was so sort of balance beam, today he decided to try to bounce Henry out of the bouncy seat, and this afternoon when I was taking a picture of all the boxes of diapers that Tootlebugs collected for the tornado relief he decided to go upstairs get his step stool, somehow manage to get it and himself back down the stairs and to the garage where he placed it right in front of the camera, climbed up in my car, and then said okay now cheese mommy! A MESS! That child is a MESS!!

Weekend Update

Jack LOVES golf, so of course you would think it would be fun to take him to the golf tournament that we had tickets to for Saturday, well boy were we ever so wrong! It was a Major and there were several big names there, Gigi and Geepers joined us, and yet Jack still could not seem to understand why he was not the one that should be golfing! He also did not understand the concept of being quiet. However, we managed to make it 4 hours before J gave up, we got lots of fun autographs, ate yummy food. It was a fun day! No cameras were allowed, so you will just have to take my word that the course was beautiful and that both boys were so adorable in their matching outfits!

My mom was here for Mother's Day too! We went to church, grilled out, and devoured a dozen baby bites in about 3 minutes! Perfect Day!!

Happy Mother's Day

These are two of my greatest accomplishments I will ever have in life, my biggest blessings, and the best little co-workers!! And even though they come with lots of sleepless nights, very loud and embarrassing temper tantrums, and more energy that I can find in one day, even with the help of Dr. Pepper...I love them more than anything, and as much as today is supposed to be about me and all the mothers in the world... I celebrate them, after all they made me a mom!

Jack and Henry...you are the best little "bugs" in the world!

Brothers!

They may not look alike at all and not even act alike, but they both like to sleep in the jump up!

Dear Henry: Month Five

Dear Henry,

YOU.MUST.STOP.GROWING!! It is killing me that another month has already passed. I think I have realized the 2nd time it only gets faster and faster. That might also have something to do with me procrastinating like crazy about moving you to your crib upstairs! You still like your Moses basket and I really like having you right there. It is also my only time each day with just you! Unfortunately I think you are going to have to move this week, or else your daddy is going to kick us both out!

No doctors visit this month, so I don't have your official weight, but my guess is 20 to 21lbs. You are a big boy and have the cutest chunky legs I have ever seen. You are filling out your 9 month clothes, and its a good thing I bought lots of 12 and 18 months for the summer!

You are still just as content as you were the day you were born. I get more comments from friends and family that you never cry, and I must say its a very rare thing. If you get really hungry or if someone (mainly a 2 year old) startles you wake.

You are rolling over both ways like crazy, however Aunt Em wants you to do it so badly for her, that every time she comes over you just stop rolling over! We have let you try out new toys this month and you LOVE them both. The exersaucer and the johnny jump up.

You are a little thumb sucker and have the biggest dark blue eyes I have ever seen. Your little rolls make me want to shower you with kisses and your laugh could melt the hearts of even the meanest! Every morning and every night your brother wants to see and kiss you before he does anything else. I think you have grown on him and he just wants to be sure you stay around! I know he annoys you all the time, but you just take it in stride. Thank goodness you are so laid back! HA!

Its easy to see how much more complete you make our family! Happy Birthday sweet boy!! We love you more than you will ever know!
