Our Thanksgiving

This year our Thanksgiving was different than anyone before and probably anyone in the future. Having a baby due the week after Thanksgiving makes plans easy...NO TRAVELING!

So, we opted to stay home, have John cooked a wonderful meal complete with turkey, dressing, and Paula Dean's fudge pie (which I ate most of)

and we just enjoyed the 4 days of quiet before the wonderful chaos that is coming this week.

I did not Black Friday shop (well unless you count 2 hours mid morning) I did not take any pictures, we did get to spend time with J's parents on Saturday as they were passing through town and then some time on Sunday with his sister and her family. We did not kill each other due to too much togetherness and Jack got tons of attention!

It was a fun Thanksgiving like no other and we are very thankful that we do have lots of family to spend our holidays with!

Turkey Day!

Today I am thankful for the two (almost 3) guys in my life! I never knew that being the only girl in a house full of guys could be this much fun!!

And if you don't think Kamin is talented enough...check out her sister Kristin who designed our cute as pie Thanksgiving card! I can not wait for her to do our Christmas card and Henry's birth announcement!

Why we heart Kamin and the pictures too!

Because she is one amazing photographer who is the only person I know that manages to get these out of a 2 year old who will not sit still and runs the entire time you are trying to take pictures! Oh and we won't mention that he took bites out of all the apples that were for props or that he would only get on the hay if he could climb it and then try to dive off, or that he wanted to play ball with the boys next door instead of taking pictures, but other than that...

You can visit her here or here! We can NOT WAIT for newborn pics with Henry and we might even be able to get Jack to be still for a few!

39 Week Update

Went to the doctor today and it seems like I am there all the time lately, but today was the last appointment before Henry comes! YEA! Thankfully since Jack did not have school this week Sara Ann was home and did not mind babysitting. J was/is slammed at work today, so I went alone with instructions for him to answer the phone not matter what!

We have a plan now and I never thought I would be planning an induction, especially after having my 1st baby at 37 weeks, but that is the plan for now. I am still praying and hoping that maybe...just maybe Henry will decide to come on his own before next Thursday, but if not Henry's Birth Day will be December 2nd 2010!

Here are the stats:

  • Heartbeat: 142
  • 1lb lost for a total of 17lbs gained
  • Dilated 2 cm
  • Getting excited that we know for sure you will be here by next week!
It is hard to believe 9 months have passed so quickly!

Happy Friday

This is how we have been spending our afternoons!
I do not like the being tired part of pregnancy and since I have never been this pregnant before it is all new!

38 Week Update

These two boys tagged along to my doc's appointment today that somehow ended up taking 3 hours! Need I say more about that!

We even resorted to playing with the stir-ups in the exam room, but don't judge...after 2 hours you do what ever you have too!

Here are the stats:

  • Heartbeat was 146
  • Dr.Mac said we passed the 5lb mark a long time ago! YEA! Hopefully no preemie clothes!
  • No weight gain for a total of 18lbs gained
  • I am fully effaced and 1 cm dilated, but his head is still a little high
  • We have everything ready since by this time Jack was here. We are thinking you might hang out in there a while longer, so I have been making you more cute clothes and I think you have about 15 bibs and burps now!
  • Your brother does not like to touch my belly when you move at all!

Party Weekend

We partied for Pop's birthday on Sunday at our house. We dined on yummy chili, 7-layer dip, and blue (yes I said that right) velvet cake. Jack was in rare form due to all that lack of attention! HA! He was dressed much cuter in a Tootlebugs creation until a major blowout and naptime led us to the sweatpants and tee shirt that some how managed to make an appearance in all the pictures.

Two of our favorite friends from J's hometown visited us this weekend, of course preggo brain is the excuse for not taking any pictures, but we had a great time and Randall and her mom brought my favorite artichoke dip and sweet tea! Randall gives Milo's tea a run for their money and let's just say the artichoke dip didn't last two days around our house and we can not wait for them to come back and visit baby Henry.

Just Rocking!

Last night we decided we better get the carseat out of the attic because we will need it in 3 weeks at the most! While J was in the attic Jack spotted my rocking horse

that I had as a little girl and he wanted it out right then. He kept screaming to J I rock, I rock. I had actually forgotten it was up there until last night, so we got it out and he LOVES it! I think he rocked for 2 hours!

And, yes it is VERY weird having two carseats in my car! I also got to hold a sweet friends new baby girl yesterday, and oh my I have forgotten how little. And she was almost 10lbs...Jack was 5lbs!

Here it is

Okay, so Em came over to play with Jack last night

and J and I did a little shopping and went out for dinner thinking it could be our last time for a while! Jack is NOT at all spoiled by Aunt Em, so he was NOT at all excited about cookies, and his new toy story movie she brought him. And secretly I was LOVING her for picking out a movie for him! The child LOVES movies and there are days that a movie is the only way I get anything done!

She was also testing out her new camera so she insisted we take at least one preggo picture so I would have it, and after some thought I decided that I would show all 5 of you that read this blog too! And mostly so I have the record of it for Henry. So here it is....my big belly with only 3 weeks to go!

Halloween Weekend Part 2

This

Plus This

Was supposed to be one cute little choo-choo train for Halloween, but after sucker bribes, begging, Daddy and Pop trying the costumes out

he still was not having any part of it, so we went to church Sunday for trunk or treat as a choo choo soul conductor! I don't know what is with the sideways hat, but he has to have every hat either sideways or backwards. He was not at all into the trick or treating part either, except for the booth that gave out juice boxes (which I think I hear that word in my sleep)

so we finally gave up and went for pizza!

36 Week Update

It is so hard to believe that the weekly visits to the doctor have officially started. Yesterday I had my 36 week appointment and had to take Jack with me, so this week I managed to con Steph into tagging along to help me with Jack! That was WONDERFUL and we were in and out in less than an hour! Just in time to grab some lunch at Newks... yummmy!

So here are the stats...

  • Heartbeat was 144
  • Henry weighs about 5lbs, the size of a honeydew
  • I lost 1lb for a total now of 18lbs gained
  • I was 50% effaced and 1 fingertip dilated
  • It has finally gotten cooler, so I am getting to wear some of the cute maternity clothes I bought
  • Jack is still borrowing your bed...he does not like his big boy bed at all!
  • You have gotten some cute gifts this week and I have been shopping to make sure we have everything we need here and ready
  • I realized I had forgotten how tiny newborn diapers are! Jack thinks they are so funny
We are hoping you stay put just a little while longer, but we can not wait to see you!

Halloween Weekend Part 1

Saturday morning we took Jack on a train ride to the pumpkin patch! He LOVED it and we knew we were going to miss the BIG train ride for the polar express with a new baby coming, so we decided to cram it in this past weekend.

Choo-choo

Best Buddies

This was a face that said if I pose for the camera will you please leave me alone and let me run?

Corn maze with daddy

Some parts of town did trick-or-treating on Saturday night and some on Sunday and we did a little of both! Saturday night was the Halloween party at the Oatridge's house and we dressed Jack up, ate lots of yummy food, played to much, and stayed out way to late, but had a big time.

Costume pics tomorrow!
