Do Turkeys Lay Eggs?

My favorite moment of the weekend trip was the drive home for this one reason...John was like a kid in the candy store when we got to stop at Bates House of Turkey in Greenville, AL for lunch. For those of you who have traveled 65 south to Alabama's Gulf Coast I am sure you have passed Bates several times. John has ALWAYS wanted to stop there and finally got the chance. Can't you tell he is excited??

Apparently everything on the menu is Turkey related from a family with 5 generations in the Turkey farming business. So while discussing the menu I simply asked this question "Do Turkey's lay eggs?" Well do they? They serve eggs on the menu. Maybe you are not as air headed as I am, but I really did not know!

My other favorite part of the weekend was Jack's Great-Grandaddy Henson. He is smitten with Jack and it's so funny because his wife who raised 3 boys quickly pointed out that he NEVER fooled with them when they were babies, but if Jack walked in the room he quickly asked "Where is the boy?"

We shopped, relaxed, ate yummy food(mostly thanks to John's Dad who cooked for us several times) and played with Jack! Here are the pictures I promised. Enjoy!Oh and Jack got two new Easter presents thanks to his Great Aunt Melissa and his Grandi. We do love presents.

New Media Console means Goodbye Coffee Table

Finally after TWO (yes that's right) years of looking and disagreeing on every type of entertainment console and cabinet we have seen, WE HAVE A WINNER! This is it. What do you think? My mom doesn't like it and Emily thinks it doesn't look like me, but John and I actually agree on it.(Two of my friends who have FABULOUS taste love it) I am so ready to fix that HUGE eye sore of a 47" TV in my living room, but you know how men are, as long as they can watch their sports and we have the TV it doesn't matter what the rest house looks like. You women know how that is!

Well in order to get this done and in my house I had to rid of my coffee table, it just was not going to work and with Jack we needed the floor space, so that led me to Craig's List. This is what I posted Tuesday afternoon.
Much to my surprise I got 15 emails on Tuesday night and Wednesday afternoon it was SOLD! 1st person who came to look (I even got to keep my baskets too) The best part, okay get ready to laugh, she thought I was a decorator! HA! She wanted to know where I got everything. It made me feel good, but John laughed when I told him. Now I am roaming around the house trying to figure out what else I can sell. Who knows we may be living in an empty house before it's over!

We are headed out of town (again) tomorrow. Third weekend in a row for Jack and I, so needless to say I am ready for a weekend at home, but we will have fun visiting John's family in LA (that' Lower Alabama for all you non-Southern people)And the best part...SHOPPING...OH, YES OUTLET SHOPPING!
So another blog less vacation, but I will have pictures on Monday!

Enjoy the weekend!

Random Picture Day

My poor baby is not feeling well today. Shots on Monday are not setting in so well. A little fever and restlessness, but he will be okay. Poor thing slept on his daddy for 2 hours tonight.

Not much to say today(I think we are all a little tired) so I will just leave you with these...

This is what happens when you roll over and over while trying to keep the blanket in your mouth!

Have you ever seen something this cute in your kitchen sink?? And can you see the ONE thing the child got from me?...Long eyelashes, yep that's it!

And this my friends is what we do to pass the time especially when Jack will not take a nap. We stroll. He reclines and props his feet up while I walk as fast as I can for as long as I can. I keep thinking this has got to make that weight come off!!

Time is Flying-It's Been 6 Months!

Jack was 6 months old yesterday AND he is sitting up!! Okay, maybe that is a little exaggerated, its more like a little tripod but it still counts, RIGHT?

It is so hard to believe that it has been that much time since God blessed with such a beautiful healthy boy. I can honestly say these are the BEST I can't wait for each day. With a 6 month birthday came the dreaded shots at the doctor! The shots weren't TOO bad, he did pee pee on the doctor. (I think that was for the shots) and Jack weighed 16lbs and was 26 inches long. Still in the 25% percentile, but that is okay. (I would sort of like to be in the 25% percentile too!)

Enjoy the beautiful day!

The 200 Year-Old-Town and it's Princess

Meet my favorite princess that I love so much! (And yes, I can say that she is my favorite little girl and mean it because I have a boy!) Is she not the cutest? And a girl after my heart. She loves pink, shopping, and everything girly! We spent the weekend in TN catching up with old friends that we had not seen in years and visiting the princess too. I don't think there are words to describe how much The Down's love Jack! We always have fun with them and I love the circus it creates with our family and their family of FIVE! Jack's Aunt Shannon got him the most precious Easter Basket (that I promise to post pics when it is ready.) It's monogrammed, of course! We made the trip to Wal-Mart, Shannon made taco's,(trust me you have not had a taco, until you try Shan's) and we played until well after midnight! Jack was in hog heaven and did not want to sleep at all. I guess we will pay for that tonight!

This is the home where I met my wonderful husband(his home for 20+ years), married him, and met some of the most wonderful friends I could ask for! It's place we love to visit and finally for all my friends who constantly ask about the small quaint town in Tennessee here you go! It's truly like no other.

SAHM

This blog that I love to read had the best post today! I don't think I have ever heard anyone sum up the wonderful job of Stay at Home Moms. I am truly blessed that I am able to experience it each day!

Like Kelly I do have a super cute boss and my co-worker is also A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E!

I mean really, how cute is this baby boy?

Blog-Less Vacation

So I guess you are wondering where we are. Well Jack and I spent a few days in Dothan visiting my family, and well when you stay with you grandmother (Jack's Great Gran) guess what? NO INTERNET! And to top it off I got home and guess what? NO INTERNET! But we are back up and running now.

This is Jack in his cute St Patty's Day outfit, that you should have gotten to see yesterday, sorry!

Lots happened while we were gone! Daddy made ribs, cleaned the hardwoods, and put Jack's new bouncy together.(long story) We got fun things in the mail from here and dodged the colder weather! Now laundry and cleaning to do.

Pop Visit and Cereal Update

Jack's Pop came over this afternoon. He brought Jack some cute little overalls
(I know what you are thinking, they are not monogrammed or smocked, but I do realize he has to have some clothes that are all boy) for their fishing trips! Jack now has his tackle box and overalls, so he is ready to go.

(just needs to get a little bigger) We grilled hamburgers and had a fun afternoon!

Oh and remember that baby who HATED to eat cereal, well oh how things change, that same baby will scream bloody murder if you don't get that food in his mouth fast enough. Plus he is loving some sweet potatoes and applesauce now too! Isn't that smile just the cutest!!

Cottontails, Golf, and Date Nights

Sorry I have not posted anything this past weekend. We had a very unusual weekend mainly because for the first time in I don't know when John did not work and we had a date night!

GiGi, Aunt Emmy,Jack and I went to Cottontails at the BJCC on Saturday. Lots of fun and I could have bought sooo much and did buy some, but for some strange reason they had NO little boys stuff. One vendor told me that was because little boy's mom's don't spend money! Can you believe that? I quickly told her she was WRONG, and I should know because I spend tons of money on cute stuff for Jack! I have to say the cutest thing I bought was from here. They had the cutest enclosure cards and lots of other cute things. The best part, the prices!

GiGi,Aunt Emmy, and Jack getting ready to shop. (By the way, doesn't Jack's Aunt Emmy look great? She has been working out like crazy to get ready for their big trip to Jamaica next month.)

John played golf with Mike at Greystone on Saturday and then we went here for a date night dinner while GiGi and Aunt Emmy stayed with Jack. Look at his sweet face. Doesn't even look like he missed us! In fact I know he didn't and Sunday night after everyone was gone that child was so grumpy! I guess we all like attention!!

New toys for Mommy and Jack!

Yes believe it or not Jack is not the only one who gets the new cute things around here. Now, with that said he does tend to get most of the new things and the more extravagant toys, but that is the way it is supposed to be right?

One of the sweetest Real Estate agents, Ann gave Jack the coolest excersaucer. We have just gotten it out and he is completely in love with it. It is so funny to just sit and watch him trying to decide which toy to touch next. Out of all the toys he seems to really like the little tiny tag on the side of the toy bar. Go figure! I had to let you see him too!

Now for all you girls the important stuff........Drum roll
These are the glorious new shoes!!

I don't think picture is justice, but these are those wonderful muted gold-wedge-same color as your summer skin-make your legs look a mile long-shoes. You know the ones that Stacy London would be so proud of you for wearing because they elongate your legs. Well I did get them on sale and for those of you who know me you know that, but I did pay more than I would under normal circumstances. I can not tell you where they came from because I do not like the store at all and would not have even been there, but I was helping a friend who needed some shirts returned.

Now if it will just get warm enough to wear them AND I can talk John into babysitting while I get a pedicure!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRANDI!

Hope you have a great day! If you could have heard Jack laughing when I handed him the sign to hold. It was priceless. Needless to say he wanted it in his mouth, but we tried.

Love you and hope you see you soon!

Jack and John too!

YES, that is Snow in Alabama.

We woke up to snow on the ground this morning!

Needless to say John and I could not wait to get Jack outside to see what he thought...still not sure what he thought, but it was fun for us.

Thanks to Sara Ann for making me borrow the snow suit that Reed out grew. I really never thought we would have a use for it, boy was I totally wrong!

The best part about the snow is that it snowed this time 7 years ago when John and I got married. Happy Anniversary to us tomorrow.

Happy Snow Day!
