My favorite moment of the weekend trip was the drive home for this one reason...John was like a kid in the candy store when we got to stop at Bates House of Turkey in Greenville, AL for lunch. For those of you who have traveled 65 south to Alabama's Gulf Coast I am sure you have passed Bates several times. John has ALWAYS wanted to stop there and finally got the chance. Can't you tell he is excited??
Apparently everything on the menu is Turkey related from a family with 5 generations in the Turkey farming business. So while discussing the menu I simply asked this question "Do Turkey's lay eggs?" Well do they? They serve eggs on the menu. Maybe you are not as air headed as I am, but I really did not know!
My other favorite part of the weekend was Jack's Great-Grandaddy Henson. He is smitten with Jack and it's so funny because his wife who raised 3 boys quickly pointed out that he NEVER fooled with them when they were babies, but if Jack walked in the room he quickly asked "Where is the boy?"
We shopped, relaxed, ate yummy food(mostly thanks to John's Dad who cooked for us several times) and played with Jack! Here are the pictures I promised. Enjoy!Oh and Jack got two new Easter presents thanks to his Great Aunt Melissa and his Grandi. We do love presents.
