Birthday Weekend Recap

Gigi (my mom) came to visit this weekend and we stayed VERY busy, but got lots done thanks to her wonderful sewing abilities! So, I am finally up to the birthday weekend for last week as promised!

We spent last weekend with J's family for his dad's 60th birthday and had a great time!

Jack was a ham and LOVED being able to play outside in a fenced yard!

(Jack decided to give himself a bath in the bird bath, which explains the clothes-less pictures)

(game time with Jack's great-granddaddy Henson)

We ate some yummy food, including WAY to many of Grandi's chocolate brownies, stayed up way to late and skipped nap time, squeezed in some shopping time and scored .99 cent swim suits for the boys, and got to see our nephew and Jack's cousin baptized.

(Cute Cousins...and soon 3 stair-step boys! OH MY!)

Hampton also liked Jack's trains! I told Tanner to start buying them! I think every little boy is obsessed with trains! It was a great weekend and we can not wait to see everyone again at Jack's birthday party in September.

(maybe thinking about getting sleepy, but not for long!)

A whole bunch of nothing!

Well of course another week is almost gone and I keep thinking it is only Tuesday! I really don't know what we spend all of our time doing, but it must be something!

Jack is into EVERYTHING and one active little boy. Sometimes I wonder if I could ever have that much energy! It seems as though the 100 degree weather is gone for the time being, which means the second you walk out the door, try to put a screaming kid in the car, and finally get the air conditioning on your makeup might have actually stayed on for the 1st time in months! I have always said I will not be one of those moms with the "workout wear" on all day, but I think they might be on to something! If you look like you have been to the gym, then nobody cares that your makeup is sweated off!

I am also in a little bit of stress mode about the fact that John Henry will be here in oh about 14 weeks (at the MOST) and I need to change up the nursery a little, move Jack into a big boy room, decide on a double stroller and mortgage the house to get it, live with the fact that as soon as I get the rooms all re-arranged our house will sell, and most importantly make both boys some cute fall clothes, burp cloths, and blankets before this 14 weeks is up. THANK GOODNESS my mom is coming tomorrow and I really hope she is ready for projects! HA!

I have also started working on Jack's birthday party, which is in 4 short weeks. We have picked up the invitations, gotten the plates, napkins, and ordered the cake, but there is still more to do there and I have all these great ideas, but it is okay that the 2nd one is not as cute as the 1st, right?

I sure hope J is ready to learn to sew and take up a 2nd job at night or else Em is going to have to start working weekends too!

We also had a great time visiting J's family last weekend and I have lots to share tomorrow!

Our Day

This is why I have not gotten ANYTHING done in the last couple of days!

WHEW,what am I going to do with 2 boys?? Yesterday he tried to ride his rocket down the stairs which could have been awful, but he is fine, and thankfully a little scared now, so maybe he won't try it again!

24 Week Update

We survived our 1st doctor's visit without daddy going and me handling Jack and being the patient all at the same time. Of course it did help that all the nurses made over Jack, gave him suckers, let him lay on the table and pretend he was the patient, and walked him all around talking to everyone. Since Jack starts school next month I figured I could handle one with him alone. He was so good we got emme's afterwards. (that is M&M's for those you can not decipher baby talk!)

Now for the stats, and yes you can stop reading now if you want to. These are here just so I can remember!

At 24 weeks....

  • John Henry weighs over 1lb and is more than 1 foot long
  • His heart rate was 153
  • I gained 1lb for a total of 4lbs, but the doctor did tell me not to be surprised if I gained 5-7lbs next month! Ummm, I don't think so!
  • The throwing up EVERYDAY has suddenly reappeared
  • I can not sleep anymore and have had to move to the couch as of last night
  • Heartburn?? I never had that with Jack, so this is a new thing
  • We still debate daily over what to call you. Sometimes it is John Henry and others just Henry
  • Jack can say Henry, but if you ask him to say John Henry, he just laughs
  • Jack kissed my belly today and said oh wee baby. I still don't think he has a clue what is coming, but maybe we realizes you are def. in there!
We are getting excited and have already started shopping, but really praying we are able to sell this house and move before December gets here. I really did not want to have to start working on a new room for Jack here and then move it all! Plus, when Jack gets his new room, Tootlebugs and all of our guests will be stuck in the garage! HA! I will say thank goodness for our upstairs den, that is now pretty much a play room. Oh well it will happen sometime, I just like the thought of sooner rather than later!

Give me some Pepper

I am not at all a big coke or any carbonated drink person, but for some reason every time I have been pregnant I crave Dr. Pepper and Sweet Tea, but not at the same time, anyway I am on a Dr. Pepper kick right now (don't worry, only one a day!) and Jack has taken notice, mostly because his Pop gives him Dr. Pepper, or anything for that matter!
So on Saturday morning Jack was whining and asking for my drink. Trying to get him to hush and leave me alone about the Dr. Pepper my quick response was.... If you say it, you can have it. Well guess who got to enjoy the rest of my Dr. Pepper? He looked at me and clear as could be said Dr. Pepper.

Good thing he had a lunch date with Pop afterwards! That mixed with the Red Velvet dessert shooter he had with my dad, well you can imagine how the nap time went that afternoon!

And I know, this sweet face is really all you want to see, so enough with my blabbing!

Have you tried the new mini blizzard from DQ? It is yummy and just the right size, of course you can see who ended up with mine!

Like Father, Like Son

Jack was serious about studying his daddy's old law school books!
We told him to be a doctor instead...they make more money! HA!

Too Much

I know, I know it has been awhile since I have undated. Our week has been busy, but I guess a little boring. HA! I have 63 orders still out as of today, so we have been at home working, and playing, and working some more! I have decided not to take any more orders until 9/1 and then I will only work until 10/15, so I can make my babies some fall stuff before the chaos really begins!
Jack got his class roster and orientation packet for school. He starts 9/8 and it is a little bittersweet for me. I am glad that he is going to get to go, and I think he will LOVE it once he gets used to it, but I sure dread it too. He will only go 3 mornings a week for 4 hours. It will give me time to get things done and some extra time with John Henry when he gets here. His poor teachers, there are 8 children in his class, and 6 of them are boys! OH MY! I am really praying he will adjust quickly and since it is at our church maybe it will make the nursery issue we have now better.

Last night I was getting Jack ready for bed, and he likes to have some time to run around in his diaper, I mean who wouldn't...its 100 degrees here! And this is where I found him, I guess he thought it was time for a swim too! (And no, my shower door is not dirty, that is the lighting in the bathroom, I promise)

Tootlebugs Lately...

I know you LOVE to see pics of Jack and probably don't want to hear about Tootlebugs, but since it is pretty much our life these days, I think a little won't hurt you...right?

Tootlebugs made their 1st appearance on a VERY cute blog that is all about the two cutest little girls I have EVER seen. I met Kristin, well you can just jump over to her blog here and read all about us and see her precious girls!

We have also been so busy that I had to stop taking orders for now at least until I get caught up! But here is what we have been working on....Enjoy!
