Sippy Cups and More Monograms

Yesterday was a full day, not to mention a long list of errands that I had to get done. Thank goodness baby boy likes to sleep in the car! We went to Target, the bank, pick up a check, waited all morning on FedEx, and got the car washed. AND we tried a sippy cup for the 1st time

Needless to say he was not a fan of water nor did he know how to hold it, but he tried! It was very funny to watch. It is the little things that are so cute.

We also got this back from our FAVORITE monogrammer who says I keep her kids in clothes with my constant need for something monogrammed. (And we won't talk about the fact that my mom has one in storage. Love you mom!)

And can you tell what is funny about this outfit?? It is not the cutest and it was under $10.

We love our RealtySouth Family!

Yesterday Jack and I went out and about to run our daily errands and met up with Matt and Sara Ann for lunch here. Yummy! We took Matt back to the RS office and went in to see some friends, just for a quick minute, well 2 hours later we have these adorable pictures and a very happy, but sleepy baby. Boy he loves some attention and "Aunt" Carol sure knows how to give it! She has decided Jack can be her new mascot, of course I think he would be perfect, but I am a little partial.

AND we needed these a couple of weeks ago!

Weekend Excitement

Well this weekend was a big one for us.

We sold the 1997 Malibu that had held up for us for a wonderful 9 years for a mere $800, but we were glad to see it go! That meant new car for John, so Happy Birthday to him! While John was wheeling and dealing Friday night with car lookers we spent some time at the pool with friends for the kick off to summer wine and cheese.

Jack had his 1st over night trip to stay with his Pop and Nana. And I just have to say they were the lucky winners because, well they are only 45 minutes away. Of course Jack had a blast and they did too. I did pretty good and only cried for a few minutes!

John and I were not really sure what to do with ourselves, it was like we were dating again! We enjoyed a wonderful dinner here at John's request for his birthday. He loves the oysters!! And then a nice dessert here, because I heart them!

We tried to sleep late on Sunday, but oh how things change, seems we now have a habit of 6am wake up calls. We read the paper and went to the grocery store.(its the little things you miss, like an hour of grocery shopping with no baby!)

Needless to say I was so excited to get him on Sunday afternoon. We even got 1/2 of the fudge pie Jack's Nana made and promises of a whole one the next time he gets to stay. Nana, when can he come back? I am just kidding. The pie was yummy, but not quite as yummy as those baby kisses!

AND...Emily and Kyle made it safely to Jamaica for a week of fun here. Hope they don't bring back Swine Flu HA! We miss you!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DADDY!

Jack wanted to wish his daddy a very Happy Birthday. We made him breakfast this morning, ironed his clothes(yes, I am a bad wife I do not normally iron his clothes), will join his work party for lunch, and have a yummy dinner tonight with funfetti cupcakes and rainbow chip icing at his request. And we got him these gifts.

We love you and think you are wonderful! Enjoy your day!

7 months old

It is hard to believe that 7 months have past since this precious, healthy, but 5lbs and 3 weeks early little boy came into our life. We are forever changed in a way that is beyond imagination. Happy Birthday to Jack!

At 7 months you are:
- sitting up, but a little lazy about it.
-your favorite toys right now are your jumpy and sock monkey
-you just starting eating little finger foods and love to eat!
-you are so happy in the mornings
-you laugh all the time especially when mommy or daddy play "boo" with you
-you always fall asleep in the car
-you love to stroll anywhere as long as we keep moving
-the funniest thing is watching you in your jump up
-you ALWAYS cry for aunt Emmy, even though she brings you a present EVERY time you see her
-You love the bath tub, but start to get grumpy at night so we have to hurry
-you get excited when daddy comes in the door from work
-you do not like to take naps, but we continue to work on that
-you weigh about 18lbs now and are still in the 25th percentile

Cute Picture

This picture is one of the funny things Jack has done lately. I was changing the sheets on our bed Friday and Jack was on the bed and just giggled as I let the sheets bunch up around him. Sorry I could not put that laugh on here for you...trust me it was so adorable!

Weekend Randomness

We had a fun and eventful weekend with lots of happenings...

First and most importantly today was the 1st time I left my baby in the nursery during church! I know what you are thinking and yes he is almost 7 months old, but EVERYONE who has kids knows the church nursery is so the place that kids get sick, so I had been putting it off as long as I could, of course he did not miss us at all. He played and slept and was so happy when we picked him up! He even slept during our entire brunch with Mike, Sara Ann, and Reed.

We also got to have Gigi for a visit and you know what that meant...break for mommy (Boy my arms could use the rest) and finally a lamp shade for Jack's room. We having been searching for months for this and she found one in Atlanta. It is perfect.

We shopped and went here for a yummy lunch where we met up with Em and went here for more shopping. I got Jack this adorable toy bag that matches his room for $14.95 and I had looked at this same bag in another store and it was MUCH MUCH MORE!

I also bought him an adorable outfit for $7.50 from here but no picture because it is already off to Jenny's for monogramming. I know what else your thinking, I better know somebody else with the name Jack because everything we have is monogrammed. Well at least he will know is name.

The other big event of the weekend is we have finally decided that John needs a new car. I have the nice car because of Jack and the poor man is driving a 1997 Malibu, so we are searching and think we now know what he wants, so it's just a matter of finding a good deal. I sure hope it is sooner than later because car shopping with a baby, not so much fun. He could care less what kind of car it is.

We also can not have a post with no baby boy, so I will leave you with this sweet picture, and that is it. The wonderful toy I searched and searched for and Pop was sweet enough to find and order. Jack loves it!

Back to Spring...Even if only for a short time.

Finally some beautiful 70 degree weather today! Which 1st meant Jack got to wear another cute spring outfit. And 2nd we got to take a long walk. I am starting to wonder if we are going to have to move further south so the sweet baby can wear all these cute clothes! By the way, the pacifier clip, an Ebay purchase for $6.99 and you get to design them and chose from hundreds of choices! How cute is that!

Jack and I had an eventful day today which ended very uneventfully with a long nap. That was a great thing since somehow we could not get it together for this mornings nap.

We visited my former work for a fun pizza lunch since my former boss (who retired last August)and her husband had made a quick trip home at the halfway point of their Great Loop Adventure. We had lots of fun and got to see some very special friends. I also got a 2 hour baby break since EVERYONE wanted Jack.

We made breakfast for dinner and searched the internet for cars with Daddy.(That 97 Malibu is not going to hang on for John much longer)While getting ready for bed daddy snapped this picture so you could see baby boy in his Easter pj's from Aunt Emmy. I ALMOST CRIED! He looks so big doesn't he? And by the way how cute are footed pj's.

What a wonderful day! Looking forward to tomorrow because GiGi's coming! We can hardly wait!

Happy Tax Day!

We got the most wonderful deduction in 2008 and it did not even matter that he got us money back!!(However it was nice, not so much luck for 2009)

Isn't he the cutest? Aunt Shannon this is for you. Jack and I have been waiting for this day to come so you can play! We miss you and hope you get lots of rest tomorrow. (you will need it)

My saving grace while I was pregnant was here because I could not keep anything else down, well I still love it and they are having a "tax day" special, so Jack and I will be dining there for lunch today. Maybe you should go too!

Back to Fashion Show

So we took a little break from Jack's fashion show to bring you Easter, but we are back and here is my precious baby in his adorable Turtle outfit (thanks Steph!). Can you tell he doesn't feel so great?

Naptime for baby boy, so I had better get myself ready. Then off to the post office to mail ebay sales which is an all day project in itself with a baby, stroller, and packages plus a post office that the line is ALWAYS out the door! I'm not complaining because I did make some money!!

Weekend

We had a very busy, but fun weekend. I am sort of glad it's Monday so we can slow down a little.

Especially since I have recently learned that Daycare-a-la-Amy is not germ free and Jack caught my cold! We visited Dr. Mc this A.M. and now Jack has a full belly and some Motrin and is peacefully sleeping away on my bed. (yes there are pillows all around him, EVERYWHERE)that was for you Mom and Aunt Shannon, because I know that is the 1st thought that popped into your head.

We had a great Easter day. We went to early service at church and had to sit in the gym because it was SO packed. We were even there early! It worked out well for us since I was not sure how baby boy was going to do in church. With the exception of biting off a piece of the bulletin, he did great.

After church we met Em and Kyle and headed to Anniston to have lunch with our Dad and his family. Nothing like a good ole Easter fish fry! It was a nice afternoon free for John and I because we were not allowed within 10 feet of Jack, his Pop had it under control.

Jack hunted eggs, well sort of ate the eggs and tried to eat the grass and took a long much needed nap on Pop's lap while Emily and I played on the computer and tried to entertain ourselves so that the guys could watch this. Heaven forbid we miss 5 minutes of any sporting event!

And finally I got a picture of our family of three together.

John and I are always trying to take the pictures and never in the pictures, mostly that is okay with me, but I did have on a really cute shirt yesterday, thanks to Em who pointed out this weekend that my closet looked pitiful and that I needed some clothes. Well that was all I needed to hear. SHOPPING! I did fail to mention that my closet looked so bad because over half of my clothes do not fit and are hiding in the closet upstairs. Having a baby does some weird things and all that weight just shifts around! We are working on it and Jack is so sweet and content to let me stroll him up and down our neighborhood sidewalks.

Anyway, enough rambling here are some pictures of our Easter Day!

We hope you have a great Easter! We love you all very much and can not thank you all enough for helping make Jack's 1st Easter so special.

Spring Fashions

I am short and sweet today! Bad cold(i think it is allergies)has caused no sleep, cough, etc, etc. You all know what I am talking about. Anyway I am not much use today!

Jack on the other hand is feeling great and has all these adorable clothes for spring (we don't always go out everyday)so fashion show for the blog readers. Here is today...

And as promised a picture of his Easter outfit.

I bought it a week ago here. Everyone has gone on and on about consignment sales and particularly this one. Well I have to say I was NOT impressed. Very expensive for consignment. I must just have great luck at finding new things on sale for these prices or I am incredibly cheap in my shopping, but I did come away with his Easter outfit for $10. Smocked for $10 is not bad. It must have been the lucky needle in the haystack and I got it.

Happy Good Friday. I hope you will take some time to remember what this day is really about!

Shhh...Don't Tell

UPDATE: Since my post this morning, Jack's Pop(my Dad) called. He found and ordered the Jumpy toy for him! YEA! That Pop, I don't know what we would do without him.

Apparently the Easter Bunny is VERY busy this year, so Jack's basket is here and waiting for him to see on Easter morning before church. Drum Roll....

And, yes I am very aware that the basket is sooo much cuter than anything in it, plus it's monogrammed.(my favorite) Jack's "Aunt" Shannon bought him that for his 1st Easter. I love it and like that he will have a special basket to use every year!

Now really what on earth do you buy a 6 month old for Easter. Between all the Easter gifts from all the grandparents, Aunts & Uncles the child does not need one thing. The only thing I can even think of that he will need in the not-so-near-future is his next car seat and ummm after looking at those recently, I don't think we buy Easter bunny gifts that cost that much! So he will love his new pacifiers, clip, stacking toy and pj's! As long as there is something in there he can chew on he is one happy baby!

There was one thing that I really wanted to find for his basket, but I am having NO luck! Jack played with this at Reed's and LOVED it. I have found it online, but the shipping is more than the toy. I may have to resort to that, but not until I have searched everywhere locally 1st!

Maybe tomorrow I will let you have a sneak peek at his outfit for Sunday. (It's really cute!)

Now I wonder what the Easter Bunny is going to bring mommy...I'm thinking a pedicure would be really nice!

Silly Monkey

My mom has been dying to find Jack a sock monkey since our Christmas trip to Callaway Gardens when we saw the most adorable sock monkey in the world that matched Jack's room. Why on earth we did not buy it that night, I have no clue. Anyway she searched and searched the Internet and even called the store at Callaway to find the orange sock monkey...and guess what? Jack got it for Easter from her.

He loves that thing and when I pulled it out of the box to show it to him the day it came in the mail he started laughing out loud. Now every time I show him the monkey he laughs out loud and then wants to chew it of course!

Sock Monkey goes everywhere and even has to hang on for dear life on the side of the jumper. Poor sock monkey, I hope he doesn't get sea sick. Jack sure can bounce in that thing!
