Lent and Legos

I decided this year for lent to give up working one day a week! HA! I know that seems crazy, but I love Tootlebugs and sometimes too much, and I need to take a day for fun. So one day during the week I don't sew, check emails, or anything and yesterday was that day!


J needed some shorts for our Disney trip, so I took the boys and off we went to the mall. I had some coupons for Macy's and ended up getting 2 pair of shorts that were $44/each for $13.68 total for both pair! How's that for bargain shopping!


We needed some play time too, so we played in the lego store, had pizza and Chick-fil-a in the food court, cookies with orange icing (Jack's choice...big mistake!)

Pop came today for his weekly babysitting day! It has been so nice having him once a week to help out. He and Henry met Aunt Emmy for lunch and then Jack and Pop went for ice cream after school. I got my haircut and applique about 20 shirts! Good day!!

And as my BFF said today... you can not deny that child, and I have to agree!

Weekend Fun

Pop and Nana are really good about offering up a weekend every so often to keep the boys, but since my dad had hip replacement back in November it has not really been possible. I did not realize how much I enjoyed those quiet weekends with J! So when we found out Jimmy Buffet was coming back to town after 10 years J knew that he wanted tickets for his 30th birthday.We enlisted Pop and Nana for the weekend so we could enjoy it and the concert was late.


I am NOT a music lover, I like it, but I can not dance and I can NOT sing so obviously concerts are not my thing. I wish I loved them more and I wish I could dance and not care about how silly I look, but I do. I was pleasantly surprised at how laid back it was and at the amazing about of people watching to be had!


The Downs were going with us, but Shan got sick so they were sweet enough to give their tix to Emily and Kyle. We missed them, but enjoyed our time out. We had a wonderful dinner at J. Clyde (hamburgers and kraut balls are yummm) and sleeping in the next morning was amazing!

Of course with the new "playground" as Jack calls it at Pop's house...they did not miss us at all!!

A week gone

I can not seem to get Jack well, thus the lack of blog posts. Finally after having a fever and throwing up 3 times in the last two weeks I think we are getting back to normal and he has gone back to school today!

I am trying to get all my current orders done and shipped out before we leave for Disney. I really can not believe that it's less than 2 weeks away! It seems like forever ago that we were planning it and now its almost here! (We won't mention that I have not even started on the boys clothes yet)

We missed out on spending time with J's family Friday night since Jack was sick, but we caught back up with them for a quick lunch on Sunday before they headed out of town. I got some baby love and Jack even wanted to help with his bottle. Funny how he's not that sweet to Henry! HA!

Henry is into everything and I mean everything. I think he empties his dresser drawers out at least 5 times a day!!

Heart Day Fun

Since Jack goes to MDO on MWF we had their class Valentine's day party yesterday. I completed my first Pinterest project for his Valentine's. I thought they turned out so cute. (Thanks to some help from Holly!)

We did a pizza party and then for dessert they iced and decorated sugar cookies. We did the icing in squirt bottles and but a cookie with all the other decorations in each child's bowl and then we let them go to town! They LOVED IT!!



They all got to pass out their Valentine's to their friends and they were so funny watching do that. Jack was so sweet and told each child thank you so much! He said mom I love Valentimes (no I did no miss spell) it means lots of candy! HA!

Catching up

See, I spoke too soon and missed the rest of blogging last week. Jack got sick again on Wednesday with the stomach virus that was going around his MDO. Thankfully the rest of us stayed away and all is well now...FINALLY!!! Well, for the most part. Gigi got up bright and early Saturday to come spend the night and visit. The trip got cut short since she got sick, but we enjoyed her while she was here.

We ate pizza and cake Saturday night for Aunt Em's birthday and we made a special trip to Wal-Mart so Jack could get a treat from the toy aisle. He picked Lion King figureines and has been playing with them not stop!

I finally got everything for the consignment sale ready, all the valentines for Jack's school party and the cookies baked. (Okay J baked the cookies) I am almost caught up on orders, thanks to Pop and we are ready for Valentines Day tomorrow!

Oh and I did not take a single picture all weekend, Sorry!

Random Thoughts

1. I , well we, have been struggling with Jack and his behavior for awhile now. Its been hard. I have cried ALOT, prayed ALOT, read a little and we have really worked with him too. I am so thankful for his wonderful teacher who raised boys. She has been so encouraging and FINALLY we have had a HUGE breakthrough. Jack has gotten treasure box for 3 weeks straight. He has been working really hard at sharing with Henry and minding so well. I am so thankful our hard work is paying off.

2. We stayed in our pjs all day today! We made pizza, played kitchen, watched movies, and I actually managed to get 10 shirts done! No shower until 6pm was well worth it!

3. I am totally procrastinating at getting the consignment sale stuff together, getting our tax stuff together, and getting everything together for Jack' valentines party on Monday.

4. I am beyond excited that Pop is coming Thursday to help me with the boys all day! Like giddy day before Christmas excited!

5. Its birthday month for Aunt Emmy and Gigi and Geepers are coming to celebrate this weekend. That means yummy food and good presents for Em.

6. I asked for new tennis shoes for Heart Day. Pathetic right? I am starting to like the lets wear workout clothes all day kind of thing!

7. I NEVER watch TV, as in NEVER could so totally live without cable, but I am really intrigued by the new show Smash

8. I AM going to China! Its my new mission! I want to go so bad!! Last night while J and I were lying in bed I could have discussed my fascination with it for hours, he not so much!

Over It

Finally...after 1 week since the sickness started, 5 days of all 4 of us spending way to much quality time cooped up at home sick, we are finally somewhat back to normal. If I could just stop hacking and Henry's nose would stop running we would be GRAND!!

We tried to entertain each other and the boys the best we could in between cleaning up throw up, wiping noses, and trying to sleep! But such is life with little ones!
