A LOT of Yesterday!

So I am not really sure where to start about yesterday, but it started early (after ending really late the night before) and got rather interesting quickly. It was one of those days where if you just laugh it seems to make it all a little better.

Since we went to TN on Wed. for John's great aunt's funeral I had to change my doctor's appointment to Thursday, which meant that Jack would be tagging along. Normally not a big deal, but yesterday it was! HA! We find a parking spot, get out, get the stroller, the diaper bag, and head toward the elevator. Get to the crosswalk on the 5th floor, and what would you know the ELEVATOR IS NOT WORKING! WHAT?? In my mind and I am thinking quickly of what the best way to handle the situation is when the oh-so-rude guy in front of me says "well I guess you can go back out of the parking deck, pay for this parking and then go valet park for $10" I did not say anything back to him, but what I wanted to say was "or you big jerk could carry the umbrella stroller down the stairs for me and we could all be on our merry way" And I will add that the parking deck elevator only goes down to the 5th floor! So I take Jack out of the stroller, fold the stroller, put it and the diaper bag on my shoulder, grab Jack's hand and we start down the 5 flights of stairs. After about 2 flights a nice man and his wife came up behind and got Jack to help move us all along faster. Thank goodness for nice people!

Then, we get to the doctor's office and I am measuring 36 weeks instead of 35 and they had me scheduled to come back in 2 weeks, which would make me almost 37 (or 38 by the measurements) before they had even checked me for the 1st time or done the Beta Strep culture. It also would have put me past when Jack was born at 37 weeks, so they wanted to do all that yucky stuff yesterday, with Jack there and me by myself! After talking to the doctor we decided to start going every week and have all the yucky stuff done next week, when Jack is not with me, except he will be since J has a meeting all day the day of that appointment, so Steph got back up duty and she is coming along to help out!

On top of all that Jack was wonderful the entire time we were there

but we were supposed to try to meet J's dad for lunch and my phone died, J got stuck in a closing, and by the time I got home, got the phone charged and then the message from him he was probably already home! I felt terrible and we missed a yummy Chick-fil-a lunch. But don't worry he got plenty of time with Jack while trying to chase him around the grave yard during the funeral! (don't judge me for that either, it had been 2 hours and he is 2!)

Jack refused to nap yesterday, and I was DONE by the time J got home, but I had several errands to run after nap time and we had weekly dinner with Aunt Em, so we bagged these cute cookies for Jack's class at school, picked up our Halloween buckets, made dinner, and got the cutest baby gift for Henry, which made it all better! (and the 2 Reese's pumpkins I ate!)

Hoping the weekend goes a lot smoother and that this baby stays put awhile longer!

Firetruck Day!

Jack's class got to see the firetrucks at school yesterday and he was VERY excited, even though he kept calling the firetruck an airplane. They got a hat, stickers, and colored a firetruck picture!
He has worn his fire hat backwards all night long and still this morning! Hope he is willing to take it off for his haircut today!

Pumpkin Patch Friday

Jack's class is going to the pumpkin patch today at school. YES, they have their own pumpkin patch. It makes it easy for the teachers to take them and its fun! He was ready to go today!

And these pictures crack me up. He was very determined to have that backpack on his back. Of course once I put it there he couldn't walk!

Heart Smiles

This little boy makes my heart smile bigger and bigger each day!
Sometimes I think I must be the luckiest mommy in the world!
He is so funny and has the best little personality which means we never have a dull moment around our house, except when he is at school! HA!

(this is right before he decided to attempt to swim in the fish pond next to the restaurant where we were having lunch. You never know when he and Reed get together what will happen!)

(Fireman hat backwards and Aunt Em's Starbucks sleeve as a bracelet...perfect outfit..right?)

(last night at our favorite place...chick-fil-a where against my better judgment (and J's) let him finish the ice cream cone in the car on the way to Wal-Mart which I know sounds crazy, but I figured what the heck and not to worry this little sweets lover did not spill one drop)

32 Week Update

I had my 32 (really 33 week) appointment last Wednesday. I went alone since Jack was at school and J was in a closing, and even after all this time and all these appointments I still don't like to go alone. Everything was great and we are getting closer and closer to seeing his sweet face. I keep wondering how Jack is going to react and how on earth am I going to love another little boy so much!

At 32 weeks...
  • Heartbeat was 158
  • You weigh about 3 1/2lbs
  • I (thankfully) only gained 1lb for a total of 15lbs
  • I am wishing it would get cooler before you arrive for two reasons...I have several cute fall maternity outfits I want to wear and I am so hot all the time. I don't the air has been above 70 in weeks!
  • you officially have your own room now, but Jack is still borrowing your bed until this weekend
  • Gigi bought you your 1st little Christmas outfit
  • Your daddy tried to get Jack to feel you move and he quickly responded with Bye Baby.
32 week bump!

IT'S FRIDAY

I have been an awful blogger, and I thought that quitting Tootlebugs a little early would help with my time management, but not so far! We will see how it goes next week when the major projects we are working on this weekend are complete!

I have lots to tell you about...32 week update, Jack trying to swim in the fish pond, lunch dates, our new favorite activities, room makeovers, etc, etc. Maybe next week!

Jack's granddaddy (J's dad) made this AWESOME bookcase/toy bin for Jack's birthday. I LOVE it and can not wait to put it in his room this weekend. For now it is parked in our living room, and as you can see...Jack likes it too!

(I couldn't get my hands on the real camera before he moved, so sorry about the poor picture quality)

Whats Up

Jack has been home with me the last two days since school was out Monday for some holiday...(Columbus Day, I think?) AND for the 1st time is awhile we had nothing major going on. No trying to finish 75 orders, no doctors appointments, no errands, just time! So we have...

  • Watched this movie at least 7 times in two days! Jack sings and dances right with them and cries for the Zebee EVERY morning!

  • FINALLY started working on some cuteness for Jack and Henry during naptime
  • Had lunch with daddy on Monday
  • Stocked up on trains for Jack's Christmas, since who knows how much shopping I will get to do around that time
  • Rented a storage unit so we can FINALLY get Jack's big boy room ready and get his beds and mattresses out of the garage!
  • Switched cars with J. (I miss my car already, but I know I am going to need the space his car has soon enough)
  • Ate the yummiest eggplant parmesan that J made, 2 nights in a row!
  • Made pumpkin cookies with Jack, and I know I am a bad mom, but I let him eat some dough too! HE LOVED IT!
  • Realized that Jack apparently knows my name is Amy. When I did not answer to mommy today he looked at me and said Amy. That got my attention alright!
Most of all I have just enjoyed spending time with my three favorite boys and being thankful for this amazing life we are so lucky to have! It is definitely not perfect, but it is perfect to me!

PJ days are the ones I want to remember!

Weekend with Pop

J jokes that our neighbors probably think Jack's Pop is his dad coming to get him every other weekend for his visitation time because he gets so excited and is very quick to say good bye to J and I. Saturday was no exception and he had a big time and crashed very early Sunday evening after we picked him up and we did not hear a peep until almost 7 this morning!

J and I got some things done around our house, I worked like crazy to get the last Tootlebug orders finished up so I can quit, or rather quit working on things for others! HA! until Henry gets here, had a nice quiet adult dinner, and even slept in!

Jack probably did not miss us much because he was busy getting whatever he wanted!!

Not My New Shoes

I decided that Jack would probably need some tennis shoes for school, and of course plain grey New Balance was ALL I could agree to. He is still a baby to me and I like the cutesy shoes, but I knew we needed something practical too!

I got them out for him to wear to school on Wednesday and showed them to Jack. He quickly said No Parker's shoe! His friend Parker has some and he was NOT wearing someone else's shoes!

After some major convincing and a train table to distract I got him to wear the shoes! He LOVES them and his teacher even told me that he was showing everyone his new shoes.
