Still Chugging

These pictures crack me up!

J was getting Jack ready to brush his teeth before bed tonight and when he asked him if he was ready for night-night he quickly starting scooping up all the trains he could possibly hold on too and was ready to go as long as the trains were coming too!

After our little 5000 calorie Cheesecake Factory Splurge today, (all cheesecake was $1.50) he should sleep well!

Conductor Jack

Jack is a little more than obsessed with the new train table, in fact so obsessed that I have had to start showering upstairs in the mornings and serve breakfast very quickly so we can go right back to playing trains!

Shhhh...Don't Tell

Jack spent the night with Pop last night so John and I (well mostly John) put his birthday present together while we could do it without him in the middle or it and mostly to surprise him. I know it is a little bit early, but he is 2 and really doesn't know when his birthday is. Since we lucked up on a great deal (thanks to having friends with a child the same age) we were able to get his train table for B1G1 50% off, so we went for it and decided to let him go ahead and enjoy it!

I promise to let you in on all the excitement when he gets home and sees it today, but we have to wait until John gets home. After all he is the one that spent 5 hours on it!

Our Day

I have proof that our day was wonderfully fabulous until nap time! Which is how it has been for the last 2 weeks, and I just can not see Jack being ready to give up nap time just yet, so I decided that whatever I had to do this week...he was going to sleep or at least spend 1 hour quietly in his bed. (everybody needs at least a lunch break, right?) Yesterday successful naptime and then today I tried wearing him completely out and yet after 2 hours of kicking, screaming, getting a spanking, and a ride in the car...I finally succeed. Hoping for a an easier time tomorrow!

Now for the fun parts of our day....We met Holly to pick up notecards for J and make plans to order Jack's birthday invitations.

Picked up our recent purchases from Little Lavender

Got our haircut AND did not even cry at all

Took Daddy some chicken salad and fruit for lunch and decided to have a "picnic" in the conference room while we were there.

See, I can be good!

Weekend List

This weekend we rolled around in the grass,

danced with our daddy,

played with Reed and banged on a BIG drum,

had dinner with Aunt Em and Uncle Pookie, and did not our naps! We also shopped the big sale at Big Lots and stocked up on diapers for both babies, and oh my diapers for 2 is expensive! Let's hope Jack is close to potty trained by December! Toys r us is having Christmas in July and they happened to have Jack's birthday present on sale B1G1 50% off, and we are so lucky that Reed and Jack love the same things, so he is getting one for Christmas and we all saved some major $$. I tried to get caught up on work, and well I didn't but a weekend of play was worth it!

We also played in the water, and then decided to just jump in!

Working Away

I have all of this ...

plus some to get done and I was determined to make a big dent in it today, so we could play this weekend. Well apparently our almost 2 year old thinks naps are not important anymore, I am really missing those 3 hours that I had every afternoon to run around like crazy and get 6 hours worth of work done.Of course when you have this much cuteness in your sweat shop helping, how can you work?

He loves to sit on the bed in the sweat shop (which is also our guest bedroom) and watch the TV in the upstairs den through the doorway. We currently have our house for sale and in this market who knows when it will sell, but I am really praying for it to sell before John Henry gets here because we need more space and I really don't want to move with a new baby, but I have to keep reminding myself that it will sell when it is the right time.

We were planning to head to the Baron's baseball game tonight, but Jack's friend Reed is not feeling well, so I think we will skip out especially now that it is supposed to rain and stay inside and have yummy tomato sandwiches for dinner. Those are really high on my pregnancy craving list along with sweet tea, Chick-fil-a, watermelon, and white powdered donuts (which I normally hate) I am telling you, it is a miracle I have only gained 3lbs and am halfway through! And speaking of new babies, have I mentioned that Jack's BF Reed is also going to be a big brother? New baby Oatridge is coming at the end of January and we are so excited for them and can not wait to see what they are having. They are hoping for a girl since this is it for them! But we will see!
Jack and I also did a little tiny bit of shopping for John Henry this week. You know I am a huge sucker for anything smocked or monogrammed, and since we have the monogram thing covered we spent some time at our favorite "secret" place to shop. They had some good deals and we racked up!

I also scored this new Kelly's Kids gown for more
than 1/2 off at my favorite online store! All it needs is his monogram and we are ready! I think he will be able to wear lots of Jack's clothes, so I am really trying to contain myself and not go crazy buying clothes for him. Plus we need a double stroller, and those things are EXPENSIVE!

Jack Time

I know (because I have gotten lots of comments) that you are tired of talking about John Henry because you can not see pictures of him yet, and have missed pictures of Jack. So here are some randoms of our life lately...and nevermind the fact that in several of these his is sleeping because that doesn't seem to be happening much around here anymore! HA! So here is our last few days in pictures!

He is really asleep! Even Chick-fil-a knocked him out!

On our way to church before the meltdowns begin!

20 week update

I can not believe I am half way through this pregnancy! We are so excited for another sweet boy around our house. J thinks that God knows we only have room for 1 princess in our house...and I sort of like that idea too! I did gain some weight, ughhh! this time, but made it half way through with only 3lbs gained. YEA! No maternity clothes yet, but I know it is coming.
We have decided to name you John Henry and luckily for me your initials are the same as your daddy and big brother and that is wonderful for a mom who likes to monogram anything she can get her hands on! You weigh 10 ounces, are very long, and spread out right across the higher part of my belly. Everything was perfect and that was a huge answer to our prayers!
We can not wait to meet you and have already started some shopping!

We got this wonderful taste of heaven today from my sweet friend Steph. Cookie cakes are my favorite, so it was the perfect way to celebrate! AND you got your 1st baseball mitt and ball today from the Oatridges. I put it up for you since your big brother was already trying to steal it.

Lunch date, spend the night party, and date night

This week we...

Had a fun Birthday lunch for our sweet friend Sharon. Jack loves her and even though I had decided that we just don't go out to eat with Jack anymore, we had a good time catching up.

Jack had a spend the night party at Pop's house and it was a much needed vacation for me
(J, too!) He did not miss me at all and looked at me like what are you doing here when I met them for lunch today. I got lots and lots of work done which made a HUGE dent in my 43 orders!

J and I had a fun little date night last night that included some of the BEST Italian food I have ever had ever. Finished off with melt in your mouth white chocolate bread pudding that I had to beg J to get. He loved it! I told him you don't ever mess with a pregnant woman's dessert choice!

Tomorrow Gigi's coming which will make the weekend fly by. On Monday we have something VERY exciting going on!

A little Tootlebugs

See I promised I would show you my new logo and business cards that Holly made. Are they not so cute? I am really excited about them. I am working away on fall and holiday items so let me know if you need anything. I will be on maternity leave by the time the holidays get here!

Now I know you really want to see what we are working on....

4th of July Weekend

Saturday night we hung out at home with Aunt Em and Uncle Kyle.

We grilled out and ate way to much.

J tivoed (is that how you say that?) the New Kids special that was on. (Don't ask, Em and I love them and have a minor obsession). Apparently Jack thought he should be a New Kid too. I wish I had gotten my video camera out, but I had no idea he would ham it up like that! And somehow in the midst of all the singing we lost our pants!

Sunday night we grilled out with our friends the Oatridges (that is Jack's best buddy Reed, who by the way is going to be a big brother too!)

then we headed over to the club house in their neighborhood for the big fireworks show. They had lot for the kids to do until it got dark,

which seemed like forever! We were a little too close to the fireworks and it sure was smokey, but Jack liked them as long as J had his hands completely over his ears!

An Extra Day!

We were so glad to have J home for an extra day today! We even decided that when Tootlebugs gets rich (HA! HA!) that J is going to stay home and sew all day! Wonder how long that would last?

I picked up my new business cards, stickers, and logo from Holly today. I am sooo excited about them and promise to show you soon! She also had a contest on her blog recently and Jack won! He got this adorable plate and she brought that to us too.
Jack has an obsession with golf and trains and since I thought I might do trains for his birthday I figured this might be the smart one to pick, although she has lots and lots of cute ones to choose from! Jack held it the entire way to the mall and said choo-choo over and over! You can visit her here and I promise you will want something, (and no she is not paying me.)

We browsed the mall for a couple of hours since everyone was having a sale. Lucky for us it was not anything we really needed, so after spending a total of $6 on something we headed to the foot court for lunch and after taking oh, about 1 bite of his grilled cheese Jack spotted the carousel and after that you could forget the whole lunch thing. All he did was try to stand up in the high chair and say ride, ride, ride. So we boxed his lunch up and scarfed some of ours down and headed to the carousel almost in time to avoid a complete meltdown for fear that he was not going to get to ride. J stated that he did not do carousels, so I gave in and said I would ride even though I knew that going around and around in circles for 15 minutes plus adding in the whole pregnant thing would cause me to probably have to find the bathroom or nearest trash can immediately! Luckily for me after J waited in line with Jack he could not resist the 1st ride on the carousel and they both loved it!

Jack waved and smiled the whole time and acted like such a big boy when it was time to get off awarding himself another ride next mall visit which only happens about once every three months since shopping with a 22 month old is---well you can imagine!

We stopped by the book store on our way home and took short naps and spent some time in the sweat shop tonight. ( I think I might almost be caught up, but Shhh don't say that too loud!)
