Our Day

This morning we went in search of a monogrammable lunch box for Jack's friend who has a birthday party on Saturday. The lunchbox was a last minute thought, but now I HAVE to find one. We have searched EVERYWHERE with no luck! This is what I really want, so we are going to try one more place tomorrow and see. I hate to give toys as gifts, but that is looking more and more like our only option.

For some odd reason, Firehouse Subs and Chick-fil-a are the only things that sound even remotely yummy right now, so we had a quick lunch with Matt at Firehouse today, making that our 3rd time this week! And sweets, oh goodness...the thought of them sounds nice until I take a bite. (Minus chocolate chip cookies because I could eat those any time)

Jack has learned to say baby in the last couple of days and it is the cutest thing. I catch myself trying to get him to say it all day long! He has also found a new show on TV called Chuggington we watched in at least two times today because he screamed for so long and so hard at nap time that he made himself throw up. Needless to say he did not get a nap and I had to dismantle and wash everything from bumper pads to bed skirts, and then he decided that 5:30pm was a good time to fall asleep in my lap leaving me no choice but to sit and hold him for two hours since his bed was, well not really a bed at the time. I got NO work done today and J was late getting home, so Chick-fil-a drive thru was our dinner choice at 7pm and the bed was finally back together and ready for a sleepy little boy by 9pm!

Whew...I am tired and really hoping to get some work done tomorrow and some rest!

Oh, and I got to make a "big brother" shirt for a customer today, that happens to be someone we know. I can not spill the beans yet, but we are really excited about their little secret and can not wait for them to share the news using their cute little Tootlebug shirt!

Baby Update

Last Tuesday was my 12 week appointment, and I honestly can not believe how quickly the 1st trimester is slipping through my fingers!

I went alone to the appointment, which was a 1st for me, but your daddy was swamped at work and Pop was playing with Jack, so it was just me and you. We were able to sneak a peek and you were moving all over the place. You have grown so much in 4 short weeks.

Dr. Mac tried really really hard to see if we could tell what you are, but we had no luck. We did not see a little turtle head which made me even anxious about our big ultrasound! Of course we don't care either way as long as you are healthy and happy!

You are still showing up every morning and making me sick, but thank goodness for your daddy and Chick-fil-a! I can not eat much at all, and thanks for that because I was able to dance a little gig at the appointment because I have lost weight! YEA!

It is real and you are really coming!
We are getting very excited and can not wait to meet you!!

Our Week List

  • We loved that daddy stayed home on Monday and took Jack to the park and out for lunch and I got to spend 12 straight hours in the sweat shop!
  • I got to spend two hours at the OB office, but got to see our sweet new baby for a long time. (more on that later)
  • Pop came to play with Jack while I went to the doc's and he brought our favorite lunch of Chick-fil-a. We are sort of liking Pop's new work schedule!
  • Jack and I had lunch with Steph and baby Will at our favorite place for French Onion soup
  • I finally went to the grocery store for the 1st time in 3 weeks!
  • J cooked dinner every night but one and that was like heaven, especially when it is hard enough to keep Sprite down much less a plate full of food
  • All of my shows are ending this week, I guess that just means more sweat shop time
  • Aunt Em is about to start her last week of work before her branch closes. Pray for her. She is looking daily for a new job and in the mean time she is going to become a Tootlebugs employee that also babysits, so I guess that means I better stay busy
  • Jack's new favorite show is Micky Mouse Clubhouse and he loves the Hot Dog song. I promise to get a video one of these days because it is so cute
  • I decided this week that I will tackle potty training before Baby x gets here. I dread it, but I think it will be much easier this way. I don't think I should have been reading up on it because it sounds scary!
  • We are really hoping Shan comes tomorrow!
  • And I am also on the hunt for a very cute lunch box for Reed's birthday. Of course it must be monogramable.
  • Mr. Potato Head is coming to the science museum this weekend, so we just might have to check that out
Have a happy weekend!

Just for Fun

So I gave in to peer pressure while we were in TN and did this:

It's not accurate and probably doesn't amount to much at all, but it was fun to see what it said. Who knows if it is right and we really don't care either way, so I will not be making any plans based on this little bottle of glitter! And yes, I actually did post a picture of this for all to see!

Choo-Choo

Em, Jack and I decided to take a quick and short notice trip to TN this past week. My dad was going for work, so we caught a ride for some much needed fun and a break! Tootlebugs has been (thankfully) very busy and Aunt Em's office branch is closing at the end of the month...so a diversion was perfect!

We ate too much, played to long and skipped naps, took Jack to see Choo-choo train and shopped. He is obsessed and probably says choo-choo at least a million times a day so we thought it was a must see.

Then we had to make another trip back to TN on Saturday for a VERY short 24 hours, but J got to come along and now we are HOME and plan to stay there for this week! J is pretty awesome and agreed to take off tomorrow to help me get (or at least try) to get caught up on Tootlebugs YEA! Hopefully that will mean more time for blogging and trips to the zoo or the science center this week!

A Proper Introduction

Since we SURPRISED you last week with our pregnancy announcement, I thought it was time to share all the details including ultrasound evidence!

On a Monday in late March after some convincing, thinking that there was no way I could have possibly gotten pregnant so quickly. I decided to take a quick trip to Walgreens for a PT test. And well...those two little lines popped right up as bright as flashing neon lights. I was shocked, excited, and a little scared. I thought we were ready for it, after all we knew what to expect, right?

I made Jack the "Big Brother' shirt that I had been dreaming about for months and we surprised J when he came home from work. It was our little special secret and would remain that way for several more weeks. Having lost a baby at 7 weeks, I knew that I would have to see our baby before I would believe it was real and on April 27th, J's 28th birthday (YES, I thought it was 29, maybe I was just wishing he was as old as I am! HA!) we got to do just that!

We got to see the heartbeat, arms, head, and our ONE baby! At that moment it was almost real and I begin to let myself get a little more excited. Time as flown and it is hard to believe my 1st trimester is quickly coming to an end and the excitement is growing each day as that milestone is quickly approching. We are 12 weeks closer to meeting our little Christmas baby and can hardly wait.

The days of waking up and having to hang my head it the toilet are ending and J is relived that early morning trips for Chicken minis and Dr. Pepper are not required to make it through the day. The exhaustion is still showing up, but I know that will soon end!

Jack is going to be the BEST big brother and I am most excited for him because he doesn't even realize in 28 shorts weeks he is going to become a big brother, hero, and best friend.

I have lots more to share about our big news, assuming I can stay awake at night to update the blog! Between a 19 month old and a constantly running embroidery machine, I am doing good to make it past 8pm!

Our Sunday

Yesterday was wonderful! I got some cute gifts, flowers, taken out for a yummy brunch, a child who did not cry in the church nursery for the 1st time, and lots and lots of kisses.

It was a day that I thought about lots of people. I thought about my mom who is the most awesome person I know. I can not imagine my life without her in it. She is a wonderful grandmother too! I thought about those women who long to be moms and are struggling with infertility, and those moms who have lost a child. Having experienced the loss of an unborn child is a hurt and pain that I know very well. I also thought about Jack and our newest addition wondering what he or she will be like and praying for them both.

We played outside, or rather J and Jack played outside while I worked in the "sweat shop" and just enjoyed each other. What more could I have asked for on Mother's Day?

I am in LOVE

With these...

Our favorite photographer took these a couple of weeks ago and it was quite a challenge with Jack running all over the place! I was very impressed that she got so many good shots. I want to remember him right now at this age because he is getting such a personality and says the funniest things. And as you can tell he is a little golf obsessed!

Weekend List

This weekend was the first one in FOREVER that we had no agenda and it was wonderful! It cloudy and rainy, the perfect weather for staying in.

J and I had date night, thanks to Pop. Of course I think Jack had more fun than we did. He got a new Thomas the Train toy, which he is so obsessed with that it had to go to bed with him and they took a little trip to Bass Pro to see the fish.

We played in the bathroom sink

Hung out in our pj's and played with all of our toys

Enjoyed not cooking, did lots of work in the "sweat shop" and took a long nap.

Party Time

I am so behind on updating the blog, but I promise I have a good excuse! I have spend every free moment the last week working on Tootlebug orders and with a busy 19 month old, there is not much free time available. I will try to be better this week! HA!

Last week was J's birthday. We celebrated several days and had lots of fun. We had yummy cake from our favorite bakery.

Wear our "party" clothes and eat yummy Mexican with some of our favorite friends.

We got to eat lunch at J's office to celebrate and have a "date night" birthday celebration, thanks to Pop! (more on that tomorrow)
