He's Big...He's Friendly...He's Purple....

Let's hear it for Barney!

If you know anything about Jack, its that he LOVES Barney! This past weekend Barney was in town, so we knew Jack had to see it. Gigi even came to see the excitement.

I never thought I would would be so excited to see a big purple dinosaur. But the look on Jack's face when Barney walked on stage was priceless and something I will never forget!

Work, Work, Work and a little play

On Friday we went to visit Aunt Emmy at work. Jack thought he needed to try out the phones and computers at all the desks!

He also thought he needed to run around and say HI to everyone and was totally fascinated by the crane that moves the granite slabs. I think he would have spent the entire day with Em if we would have let him and he let me know that with a screaming fit when we left!

To Remember

Our life has been so crazy lately, in a good way, but nonetheless crazy! So today's post is for me to remember the things Jack has been up to lately...so I don't forget. HA!

He is the most fun little boy and there are days especially now that he has his on little personality that I could just sit and watch him forever.
I can not believe he is almost 19 months old. Wow how time flies.

  • You talk ALL THE TIME. I might not understand it, but I always reply and you do too.
  • You move your hands when you say something like you are telling us something so important even though it is mostly gibberish
  • I can say to you "kiss" and you pucker your lips up. Talk about melting my heart.
  • As soon as you hear the garage door every afternoon you quickly stop whatever you are doing and run for the door because you know your daddy is home
  • All drinks are juice and you stand at the frig and say juice, juice, juice over and over
  • You have learned all of your body parts and can point to them if asked. Sometimes you will say them, but not much
  • You love belly buttons and think it is so funny to get your daddy's
  • We still play golf ALL THE TIME
  • You have a new love of Thomas the Train. You have not forgotten Barney, and even wanted to sleep with him today, but Thomas is coming in at a close second. It drives me crazy that even the girl trains have a man's voice. I think about it every time we watch it. (which is a lot!)
And on another note, I wanted to share this:

A family from John's hometown have a baby boy that was involved in an accident very recently that was so minor, yet has altered their lives forever. I have cried and prayed for them and hugged Jack a little tighter. It has made me stop and think about the blessings I have all around me. Say a prayer for them today, I know they would be thankful.

Happy Tax Day!

So, I will be nice and act happy that it is tax day just for Aunt Shan, who is probably working her tail off and yet so excited about finally getting a day off tomorrow, despite the fact that the IRS politely cleaned out my savings account today!

We even have this cute little deduction, but it did not matter at all!
There is always next year!

Boy's Weekend

Jack and I ended up staying in town this past weekend after a quick change of plans Saturday morning. My mom spent Friday night at the ER with my Gran with kidney stones, so we decided to postpone our trip. Lucky for these two boys who got to do lots of fun boy things!

Jack got to go to his 1st minor league baseball game and he loved it. He kept saying ball, ball the entire time. He clapped and cheered like he knew exactly what was going on. (which is more than I can say for me. HA!)

We even got to watch a good fireworks show after the game in honor of the 1st game of the season. We are glad there is a minor league team in our town since Jack enjoyed it so much. I think I see some hot nights at the ball field in my future!

And John got to spend Sunday riding in pace cars and watching Indy Car racing in the VIP tent. Sara Ann I decided that after a weekend full of boyish activities we need a girls trip to the spa!

Busy Bees

It was Spring Break this week for our favorite friends from P-town. Their Emmy brought them down for a couple of days to have some fun. We were so glad to see them, but say that Shan did not get to come. Just too close to tax day for her to break away!

We stayed VERY busy, and I am so tired! Jack did great for 2 whole days without a nap. He loved all the attention and I loved having someone else carry him around! HA!

The kids had lots of requests and we were able to fit them all in. We went to the science museum, iJump, Chick-fil-a (I know how do those kids survive without one!), Yogurt Mountain, the zoo, and swimming...WOW typing it makes me tired!

Jack loved the yogurt, and after eating his and mine, he decided to dig into Colby's cup.

He was not sure about the swimming, but warmed up quickly. And, yes he does own an adorable smocked swimsuit, and I know what he has on is, well ugly, but it is great when for new swimmers, and when mommy does not want to get into the pool!

We will sleep GOOD tonight, then Jack and I are headed south to visit Gigi, Geepers, Gran, and The Ungers for a few days while John lives it up VIP style at the Indy Car race this weekend.

See you soon!

In Pictures

Jack made his photo debut today on our favorite photographer's blog!
Kamin is AMAZING at her job as a photographer for several popular magazines AND we love that she takes pictures for people too. We can not wait to have her take pictures of Jack in a couple of weeks!

You can see our little cutie here!

These are a few of my favorite things

This is what Iam loving about Spring weather:

  • Adorable $10 necklaces from Wal-Mart. I got the coral one.
  • 80 degree weather
  • Pedicures so you can wear flip-flops
  • Jack's red sandals
  • Grilling out
  • Good friends
  • Patio Mexican
  • Playing outside with this cutie!
  • Strawberry kiwi sorbet from TCBY
  • Dying Easter eggs

Easter Weekend

Jack came down with what we thought was a little virus Thursday night and we thought it was over, so we went on with our Saturday plans to go to a neighborhood egg hunt, then dye eggs at the Oatridge's house.

Well Jack decided to throw up at their house and all over our bed during the night Saturday. So our plans for church were canceled thinking that there would be some mad mommas if we took our sick puppy to the church nursery!

He has not had a fever, is happy as a clam, playing outside, and only throwing up about every 12 hours...so I have pretty much come to the conclusion that we have an ear infection and we will be paying a hopefully quick visit to Dr. Mc in the morning!

And like my mom said when I was so sad that we could not go to church this morning---"You can never plan with small children!" She is so right!

So, we will just wear our Easter clothes next Sunday and pretend we never missed a beat!

We still went to Pop's for Easter lunch, they did not care that Jack was sick and insisted we come anyway. Jack had lots of fun outside and playing with everyone! Glad we did not miss it! Jack got lots of treats and we ate yummy ribs!

Happy Easter!
