"Yes, I know I'm Cute!"

Is this not the cutest model pose you have ever seen? And those legs!! Could you not just eat them up with a spoon?

Jack did this for his Aunt Emmy who bought me that onesie the day I found out I was having a BOY! It finally fits and I put it on him for a picture and cried. I know crazy right? Well you see I wanted a GIRL more than anything in the whole world and had asked God many times for a girl. I did not know what I would ever do with a boy. I just knew that I had prayed for a girl and that is what I would get, boy it is funny how unanswered prayers can turn out to be the biggest blessings.

The sadness I felt at 19 weeks pregnant when they told me it was a boy and I found out Emily would have to return that adorable princess bib seems so silly now. Jack is the greatest blessing I have ever received besides my husband. Today at 5 months old I can not remember why I even wanted a girl. He is healthy, happy, adorable, and the best baby I have ever seen! God granted me the most important thing I asked for a healthy baby and made me so thankful for those unanswered prayers.

Monograms and Missing Wedding Rings!

Okay people let's not freak out, but I have somehow misplaced my wedding rings. I am such a neat freak and a creature of habit, so I have NO CLUE where they have gone. Tonight when John comes home I guess we will pull out dressers and see. I have not cried yet, because they have to be here somewhere. I had them yesterday, I just know I did.

My friend Jenny is the most creative and talented person I know. She is a true domestic goddess. I just know one day I will be that domestic goddess, but I am still trying to get there. (i.e the sewing machine for Valentine's Day) She monogrammed some things for Jack and they are soooo adorable.(You know how I like a monogram on anything)and she made the most adorable wipey cases for Jack too.

By the way, she will have those bibs soon. They are AWESOME!!

Fat Tuesday and Mardi Gras Parade

Most importantly I have to tell you that today I am getting a NEW dishwasher!! The best part is our builder is putting it in FREE!! And yes, I was actually nice about it.

Now on to the fun.

Last night we celebrated Fat Tuesday at Patton Creek in Hoover. There was a parade, beads, moon pies, candy, and friends. We stopped by the RealtySouth office at Patton Creek where we enjoyed some yummy treats and Jack, who was memorized by Mrs Pat's(she is the broker at that office) hat posed for a quick picture without crying!
Needless to say when it was time for the parade he started crying like crazy then suddenly he was out and I mean out. But how cute was he it that bogon?? Slept through beads flying through the air, the high school band drum line and everything. Our friends and my former boss(who I left to stay home with my wonderful baby and he still hates me to this day for leaving him and says it was like a bitter divorce, but he'll get over it!) Beau, his wife Ellen and Clayton were there. Beau was piling the beads on Clayton and I thought the poor thing would fall over! He was so adorable with all his Mardi Gras attire and I am sorry this picture does not do it justice.

Grandparents, Birthdays, Haircuts, and Dishwasher Disasters

Weird title, I know, but since I last talked to you so much has happened! I am finally starting to feel better today, but cannot seem to shake the cough. Luckily Jack has not gotten it( I think that has something to do with my crazy addiction to the can of Lysol)and I am so praying he won't! John hasn't either, and let's be honest I am not that worried about him but he is an awful patient!

My mom came to town Friday night which was wonderful! That meant an adorable easter basket for Jack and sleeping late for John and I.
We met my sister and Gran for haircuts (okay not bragging, well yes I am, but my haircut is cute) If your in the area, call Salon 150 and ask for JoAnn) then headed to Edgar's for lunch. It was yummy as usual especially the strawberry cake. I know we are so trying to lose weight, but it was Emily's 25th birthday, so just a little was okay, right? Then off to Sekisui for dinner. Emily and I have a slight addiction to sushi and remember I had to abstain from sushi for a whole NINE months (plus 12 weeks more while breastfeeding)Needless to say we all had our share of sushi and even time to pose for a quick picture. Some how we just don't look as cute as Jack, ever!

Somewhere in between all this we spent some time with Jack's Pop and Lisa (because she still has not come up with a "granny" name yet) on Saturday night and Sunday too. Not to mention my less than 1 year old dishwasher broke and I have been handwashing 85 bottles a day! Good news we are getting a new dishwasher this week compliments of the builder!

I know this is a lot for 3 days. Poor John tried to get some cough medicine that would knock me out. Didn't work!

The Yucky's and Blogging

I know I am behind on my posts. I have lots to tell you about, but unfortunately I spent the morning at the doctor and came out with an antibiotic and instructions to drink lots and get plenty of rest, um HELLO I have a 5 month old! Not really possible especially when your husband is slammed at work. At least I have a baby who is really good. (I did remember to remind God this morning how thankful I am for that)

Something to ponder until I am back. I am really getting into this blogging thing, but am curious who reads this? Does anyone? I do talk ALOT about my child, is that annoying?

I just cannot stand it and I have to leave a picture for the grand's to see too! Jack has taken to thumb sucking and had put himself to sleep using the power of his thumb! Now really, how cute is that?

Valentine's Day Fun

We enjoyed a great Valentine's Day which 1st included me getting to sleep late (if you consider 7:45 late which I do with a 5 month old) followed up with a visit from Jack's Grandi and Grandaddy from Gulf Shores (that is John's parents) We had lunch at Richard's (I highly recommend the club sandwich and banana pudding) and spent the afternoon playing with Jack.

They brought Jack an adorable toy that he loved knocking over, but that entertained him to say the least.

This is Jack's Thank you kiss

Late this afternoon we took a nice walk then I slipped away while Jack was cat napping and got a much needed pedicure, thanks to John for babysitting.

Happy Heart Day

I know all of you grandparents, great-grands, and special friends have seen the precious V-day card, but I wanted the rest of you to see it too!

We celebrated Valentine's tonight because John could not stand it! He is the worst at keeping a secret, but I am not so good either.

Anyway I got the best present ever..Ready (here is where you insert drum roll) a SEWING MACHINE. I was so excited plus I even got a card which never happens and YES I did cry. I know it is only a sewing machine. I had already decided that it was my new year goal to learn to sew if it kills me, and then on to monogramming. (I have to conquer the sewing before John will buy a embroidery machine)Besides doesn't every stay at home mom know how to sew?

Here are the presents, and yes John asked for a dutch oven. However Jack's gift is the cutest.

Thank You to all of you special people in our lives who make every day feel like Valentine's Day! We Love You!

Sick Day

Jack had a cold last week and was so stuffy and pitiful! And while he was not screaming at me for having to hold him down every hour to use the nasal aspirator on him he was busy looking so cute in his pj's. I just had to snap some pictures and show you.

Fashion Shows, Spiderman, and Dancing Snowmen

Yes, all of those random things made up our fun filled weekend in Pulaski.

Jack's Aunt Emmy, Jack and I went to visit the Downs, go to the Clothes Pen, (like Jack needs any clothes, but they have things that NO one in B'ham has and I love that) and get our taxes done!

SYDNEY FEEDING JACK (Yes, I am actually going to let you see me with rollers in my hair!)

Colby, Sydney, and Caden love Jack and get so excited to see him, and Shan will probably kill me for saying this, but she is a little partial too. In fact so bad that she cries worse than my mom when Jack leaves. I sort like it that he melts her heart that much! Anyway we played, shopped for Sydney (and yes Emily and I love anything to do with fashion so we made her play dress up and pose for us)and watched Caden act out Spiderman!

SYDNEY'S FASHION SHOW

CADEN AKA SPIDERMAN

Jack was in awe of the kids and smiled the whole time. He also did not sleep much. I think he was too afraid he would miss something good.

I took lots of pictures so you can see Jack with the dancing Snowman and how cute Shan's kids are.

SEE I TOLD YOU THEY ARE CUTE!!

Sweet Friends and Playdate Fun

Jack and I spent the afternoon at the mall and Sam's.

Of course just as we start to head home Jack decides he wants a bottle.Well since it was a little cold today and Sam's lacks for a place to give a baby a bottle I called my wonderful(and by wonderful I mean friend since-third-grade-sisterly love-hate-relationship)friend Stephanie who lives close by to see if we could run over for Jack to have his bottle. Of course we could, so we headed over. (Good news for me I got a break from bottle duty)

Anyway her little boy Parker Alan LOVES Jack and is so funny with him. He wants to hold him and kiss him all the time. I snapped this adorable picture of them playing in the floor.

But, wait the afternoon gets even better. Steph offered to go with me to Wal-Mart to grocery shop so I did not have to wait until tonight when John got home. (Trust me, grocery shopping with a baby and all his gear is not fun!)

I sure am going to miss them when they move away in March.
